Hampartsoumian (pictured left) joined TBWA\Singapore as managing director in 2014 with a mandate to oversee existing clients and lead new business opportunities. A believer in giving back and investing in home grown future talent, under his leadership, TBWA\Singapore's internship programme has become one of the most sought after amongst advertising and communications students. Working closely with 15 schools the agency hosts 66 interns across various departments annually, with an impressive conversion to full-time employees.

Said Ian Pearman, president TBWA\Asia; "For two years I've been witness to Ara's energy and unrelenting commitment to TBWA and to his team, as CEO he is now in a position to take the agency to even greater heights."

Added Troy Ruhanen, president and CEO, TBWA\Worldwide; "You can tell what the prospects of an agency are within five minutes of walking in the door. Ara has cultivated a people-focused culture of optimism, innovation and success, and it comes through at every turn. There is no greater joy than recognizing people for outstanding performance and we congratulate Ara on his well-earned promotion to CEO."

I wonder what this press release would have read had TBWA not retained the Singapore Airlines account? Probably something like “Ara leaves TBWA following loss of the Singapore Airlines account along with 45 other staff members”. We work in such a fickle industry.
