NZ scores 4 Golds in New York Festivals 2009
New Zealand scored 4 Golds and 2 Bronze medals at this year's awards, with three of the four Golds going to Clemenger BBDO for their work for the New Zealand Transport Agency. The other Gold was awarded to Colenso BBDO for the New Zealand International Comedy Festival, and one Bronze was given to Aim Proximity for the Yellow Pages work, and the other to Repulik Communications for Atrari New Zealand.
Clemenger BBDO were also big winners in Australia, with the Melbourne
office recognized for their Four 'n' Twenty Meat Pies work with 4 Gold
medals in the Avant Garde, Consumer Products, Consumer Promotions and
Mixed Media categories.
The biggest regional winners in the competition however were CumminsNitro, Australia who nabbed the Grand Trophy. The Brisbane based agency received the Grand Trophy in the Digital + Interactive category for their groundbreaking campaign for Tourism Queensland, "Best Job in the World."
The 2009 Grand Jury™ was comprised of 255 Senior Creative Directors from 56 countries, representing the largest and most diverse jury of any advertising competition in the world.
Despite obviously hard times, in 2009 NYF Advertising competition received entries from 71 countries in the following eleven competitions: Art & Technique, Avant-Garde, Collateral, Design, Digital + Interactive, Mixed Media, Outdoor, Print, TV/Cinema, Radio and Student.
To commemorate this year's winners, the 2009 New York Festivals (NYF) Advertising Awards will host a series of award ceremonies and speaker series around the world. Awards presentations, along with a THINKBIG™ Speaker Series about Digital, Interactive, Avant-garde and Social Media, will be held in seven cities around the world, premiering in Chicago on Tuesday, July 21 at the Chicago Cultural Center, and followed by additional shows in Shanghai, Manila, Mumbai, Santiago de Chile, Madrid, and New York.
All winning entries of the NYF Advertising In All Media Award will be featured in the Showcase section of their website www.newyorkfestivals.com. Additional award winning work, along with interviews with creatives, can be seen on www.newyorkfestivals.TV.
