Every year, the Association of Independent Commercial Producers hosts The Show and Next Awards for commercial innovation, which are a bit like the Golden Globes for commercials, voted by the toughest crowd to make an impression on in the business.

In ‘The Ride’, by Grey Melbourne, Kelleher shifts the viewpoint between five different motorcyclists so the audience experiences what it’s like to be hurled off a motorcycle into the wheels of truck – it’s a powerful finale, which features in Grey’s 5-minute compile of TAC’s most effective campaigns over 20 years.

The AICP ranking is testament to Kelleher’s talents, because every year the winners of the AICP Show are archived for posterity in the Department of Film at MOMA, New York. This year’s AICP Show debuts at the MOMA on 8 June.

This is Curious’ third industry nod so far this year. In NZ, Darryl Ward’s work for Special Group cleaned up at the Axis Awards, winning the Grand Axis, Titanium, Interactive and Integrated Axis trophies, plus PR/Experiential/Word-of-Mouth, Best Digital/Interactive Campaign, Social Media Editing and Direction for the Orcon / Iggy Pop ‘Together Incredible’ campaign, which became the most highly awarded campaign in Axis’ 30-year history.

Curious again made the cut in the Production category at the CREATIVE Hotshop Awards for the third year running. They won the top HOTSHOP Award in 2008, placing runner-up in 2009 and 2010.

“These acknowledgements feel good. Lance, Darryl and the entire team at Curious work day in and day out to keep our content fresh and out of the ordinary.  These Awards simply serve to encourage us to keep our ambition high and to keep taking creative risks,” says Pete Grasse, Executive Producer at Curious Australia.

These achievements come as Curious celebrates its 10th year in New Zealand.
