Webby win for The Yellow Treehouse – three People’s Voice awards for Australian agencies

Australian shops scored three People’s Voice winners:  Amnesia Rasorfish, Sydney for Lonely Planet in the Mobile & Experience Marketing category; and Profero, Sydney for NAPCAN Cyber Bullying affects real lives in Rich Media: Non-Profit/Educational; and 99designs.com, Melbourne for 99designs.com in the Web Sevices and Applications category

Established in 1996, The Webby Awards attracts entries from over 100 categories in websites, videos, music and other Internet applications. Each award is judged by the 650 members of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.

Martha Stewart and ‘The Simpsons’ creator Matt Groening were among themembers of the Academy who selected Webby Awards winners. In addition,people from around the world chose the winners of The Webby People’sAwards – and with almost one million votes cast this was a new Webbyrecord.

 

The Academy is an intellectually diverse organisationthat includes members such as musicians Beck and David Bowie, Internetinventor Vint Cerf, political columnist Arianna Huffington, MattGroening, R/GA Founder and Chairman Robert Greenberg and VirginAtlantic Chairman and Founder Richard Branson. Members also includewriters and editors from publications such as The New York Times,Wired, Details, Fast Company, Elle, The Los Angeles Times, Vibe, andWallPaper.
