About the Tomorrow Awards:
TheTomorrow Awards is the first international award show dedicated todiscovering, showcasing and awarding advertising creativity that pushesnew technological boundaries. Since the very best examples of such workare those that defy standard award show categories, the Tomorrow Awardsis category-neutral; all entries are judged together, and only the verybest ideas shine brightest.
Beyond the trophies and accoladesbestowed upon the winners, the Tomorrow Awards seeks to educate theindustry about new technologies and the creative possibilities thatcome with them. To accomplish this, the entire industry is involved inthe Awards’ quarterly judging process, creating the shortlist for thefinal rounds of judging. By choosing which entries move on, not only isthe advertising community awarding its peers, it is also activelylearning about new directions to take the creative process.
TheTomorrow Awards recognizes that the future of the advertising industrywill not rest solely on the efforts of present-day pioneers, but alsoon the next generation of creative professionals. To this end, 10% ofall Tomorrow Awards entry fees are devoted to scholarships to schoolsand programs that we believe are preparing their students for thecomplex advertising industry of the future.

Every time Tony smiles, a statue gets its wings.
But every time he frowns, a lion bursts into flames.
I’m kind of missing the logic here.
Aren’t our current (excessive) award shows already recognizing creative work in any media?
Why would I pay $250 per entry for another show to duplicate what the other (unnecessary) shows do already?
Even stranger, why would I pay to enter a show that has the initial rounds judged by whomever feels like signing up as a judge?
Even stranger, why does the Tomorrow Show then get a panel of ‘Monster Judges!’ to decide the final winners? If the public panel is good enough to pick the shortlist, why aren’t they good enough to pick the winners? If they are not good enough to select the creme de la creme, why use them at all?
Even stranger, why is CB a sponsor?
NO. MORE. AWARDS.
Awards are fine. I’ve won shitloads of them myself. But enough is enough. We don’t have the time or the money to enter all this crap. You know what a ‘tomorrow’ award is? Titanium. It already friggin exists. STOP PLEASE.
I keep reading the headline to this article and thinking that the AWARD deadline is tomorrow.
