Speights: it’s good to be home

A follow up 15 second promotional spot and on-pack promotion also gives kiwi blokes the chance to win their own personalised BBQ package, along with other prizes for the home, including personalised stubby holders, BBQ aprons and beer labels.

holy meatballs, them’s a lotta wipes!
kinda bummed it didn’t break out into hotel california
reminded me of that old spice ad with the guy flying through the air and on the golf course and then on a beach
anywho i liked it. nice to see good dumb stuff on this blog lately, instead of “brand films.”
Dumb, indeed.
Actually, that is just really gay.
I used to be able to order this beer with pride. Never again.
What’s wrong with you people. I gotta say, I really liked it.
simple. funny. well done.
Hey that’s cool.
love it
An Aussie agency making an ad for New Zealand’s most staunchly patriotic beer.
Imagine if Droga Auckland made the next VB campaign. Why couldn’t Mojo Auckland make it?
Sorry. But that is so lame. And it’s executionally the same as the old spice ad. Nothing new. Nothing exciting. Nothing to get worked up about.
it’s v good – simple, engaging, memorable.
well done p & m

who cares? these agencies are staffed by people from all over the world. a bunch of americans at leos sydney made the new bundy ad. who cares?
Nice work boys. Like the (unexpected) music choice and the BBQ made me giggle…WIN.
DUNT
Better than most ads. Well done. Great music, Great hand to fire move. I liked it.
Quite the turd really.
You kind of get it once you read the explanation. Which kind of defeats the purpose. Sorry. Good music, though.
Speights is an iconic NZ brand with a national heritage of brilliant, quotable, well-loved advertising. This spot doesn’t measure up, even for an average Australian brand.
What just happened?
Well done Boy Band.
Another No1 hit.
Agree with 12.28, Speights has a massively strong heritage and the token ‘good onya mate’ doesn’t cut it.
I don’t hate this but I sure don’t love it.
Does look like it was made by a Boy Band. NSync’s version of a Kiwi beer ad.
this ad’s as gay as the day is long…
tick. approved. love it.
Once again, complete twats post comments that don’t offer any real value – simply labeling something as ‘dumb’ and ‘gay’. It’s fucktards like you lot that perpetuate the negative connotation of the word gay.
i really like it
simple and well executed
I”m offended by negative connotations of the word ‘fucktard’.
@FredFucktard: LAME
Its gay. I love it!
Ah the vitriolic criticism of the blog. Like death and taxes, it is but certain. Chin up ‘boy band’, it may not win a grammy but it’s a pretty fucking good beer ad in my book.
Dicko…It’s in your book? No wonder you think it’s good.
SHAME OF THE SOUTH SINCE 2010.
(if you know the brand you’ll know what i’m talkin’ about!)
what the hell?
it’s not like they had to top putting a pub on a ship and sending it to london or anything.
that’s not speights
Is this for girls? he in his underwear.
Micah, is the beer barrel empty?
For the same client that approved this?
