London International Awards: top 4 performance by Australia with four Gold, 13 Silver, six Bronze

Screen shot 2010-11-09 at 7.49.56 AM.png14 Australian companies were recognised for their superior entries to the 2010 London International Awards, held last night in London. In total Australia scored 5 Gold Statues, 13 Silver Statues and 6 Bronze Statues and 19 Finalists.

Australia, with 24 trophies, was ranked #4 in the world behind the USA (72 trophies), UK (63) and Germany (24).

Australian agencies celebrating included: Clemenger BBDO Melbourne with a Gold Statue and two Bronze Statues; Three Drunk Monkeys with a Gold Statue and a Silver Statue; Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney with four Silver Statues; and DDB Sydney with three Silver Statues and two Bronze Statues.

“Australian entrants have once again proven their creative superiority,” commented Barbara Levy, president of London International Awards. “They have won across all media. I would like to congratulate all the Winners.”

The 25th LIA judging was held at the Wynn/Encore Hotel in Las Vegas, convening over a ten-day period.

Y&R was awarded Network of the Year; RCKR/Y&R, London won Agency of the Year; and MJZ was awarded Production Company of the Year.

Of the 13,562 submissions, from 79 countries, only four percent (4%) attained Shortlist status. Of those elite selections, only 0.6% won Gold Statues; 0.87% Silver Statues; 1.12% Bronze Statues and 1.33% Finalist. The vast number of submissions reflects the prestige and explosive growth of the London International Awards since its inception in 1986 when 2,600 submissions were considered.
