FRANKLIN-TIPTON-NEW.pngCB Exclusive – Franklin Tipton, the executive creative director at Mojo Melbourne – who has only been a year in the role – has resigned – and says he will depart Australia to return to the U.S. with his wife and two young children, in February.

“For family reasons, I need to return to the U.S.,” he said simply.

The loss of Tipton comes only a few months after Rebecca Carrasco departed the ECD gig at Mojo’s Auckland office back in August – also for personal reasons – after only a few months in the role. Her replacement is expected to be announced soon.

Tipton, formerly of Crispin, Porter + Bogusky and Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, joined Mojo in November last year.

During his time in Melbourne Tipton says he has built strong relationships with clients and colleagues, and does not rule out returning to Australia in the future. Says Tipton: “It’s been a superb adventure and I’ve met so many amazing people around Oz. Mojo is a fantastic company to work for and we accomplished a lot this year – completing some great integrated ideas and producing work that the team can be very proud of.

“I especially loved working with Micah and Lachie, and the company is much stronger regionally under Craig (Davis),” he said.

Craig Davis_web.JPGCraig Davis (left), co-chairman and regional CCO Mojo, said that he was disappointed to lose a creative leader of Tipton’s brilliant pedigree: “Family comes first, and I respect both Franklin’s decision, and the contribution he has made to Mojo during his time with us. It’s been wonderful to have him on board, and we wish him only the best for the future.”
