TheCannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is now acceptingentries in all 13 categories for its 2011 awards – Film, Press,Outdoor, Direct, Media, Cyber, Radio, Promo & Activation, Titanium& Integrated, Design, PR, Film Craft and Creative Effectiveness -all of which will be judged and awarded by the dedicated juries inCannes during June.
Entry forms can be completed online at www.canneslions.comfrom today. The entry deadlines for the categories are: CreativeEffectiveness Lions – 4 March 2011. All other categories – 11 March 2011

Does anyone else see the gross stupidity in this video?
We’re being told we need to “persuade” the jury that our outdoor is good? The inference being that it’s not really, but convince them it is? WTF? Shouldn’t the work stand on its own?
We’re being told to “redesign our submissions….oh….ummm…as they appear in the real world though…”
Why the f*ck does the outdoor category have video case studies anyway? It’s f*cking outdoor! How could it possibly need that much explaining? If it requires a VO to explain it – throw the stupid bloody thing in the bin – it’s shit.

Oh yup, I wonder what they sent if for WWF. The campaign that was stolen off 2 students and won at young guns the year before.

My copper coin’s worth – traditional media is being used in non-traditional ways so some executions require explanation. Outdoor isn’t just ‘big print ads’ anymore.
