This Space Film Festival.pngGoogle will be hosting YouTube Australia’s inaugural film festival as part of The Communications Council’s ‘Circus’, set for February 22-25 in Sydney.

‘This Space Film Festival’ will take place on the evening of the 23rd of February, and will showcase global creative initiatives with a uniquely Australian flair, while celebrating YouTube’s users and content creators.

Interactive video highlights from the YouTube Play exhibit held at the Guggenheim museums in New York & Bilbao will be shown, as well as clips from the first ever user generated full length documentary ‘Life In A Day’ which is premiering at the Sundance Film Festival in January. The night will also see a preview performance from the upcoming YouTube Symphony Orchestra, to be hosted at the Sydney Opera House in March 2011.

The event seeks to explore the question of what happens when creativity, technology, and storytelling meet through the power of YouTube.

The first 200 people who book for Circus will automatically receive an invitation to the YouTube event taking place at the Argyle in the Rocks. Registration for Circus is now open.
