Zozin brings a highly evocative visual approach to film that has won him numerous international awards. While in Televsion and then recently in Film school, Zozin developed a powerful ability to capture intensity of emotion via cinematic narratives. Amongst his impressive achievements to date have been winning silver at Cannes 2008 for his Adidas – Pure Performance spot, and again in 2009 Cannes Young Director Award for his short Oleg – Life of a Weightlifter. A further 2 Gold Lions were picked up in 2010 for his Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra commercial.

Mario grew up in the small town of Remagen, Germany, on the banks ofthe River Rhine. He spent several years acquiring knowledge andhands-on production experience in all facets of filmmaking in thenearby city of Cologne. However it was his talent for writing anddirecting that prevailed, apparent now in his particularly emotive andvisceral films. After a stint at directing/writing for television, these skills were further honed whilst studying at the prestigiousFilmakademie Baden-Württemberg.

For Mario, joining The Sweet Shop is the next step, ” When I still wasat film school, I felt that The Sweet Shop along with its sistercompany The Rumpus Room, offered tremendous creative potential. Nowhaving the chance to exploit that potential fully is not only anamazing thought, but also a very exciting challenge.”
