This yoghurt is real food for real men

The Idea was to develop a product that men could call their own, that would give them back their own corner of the fridge and was ‘real food for real men’. A new series of spots via Shine, Auckland.

Maybe a little VB in the idea and a little Campbell’s Chunky in the execution but overall I really like these spots. They made me chuckle and (even though I’m a girl) the product demonstration really makes me want to try the product.
Not sure about NZ blokes but I think my pseduo macho male friends might feel a little bit more comfortable buying and eating yoghurt after seeing these.
Tired old strategy of ‘the rules of mandom.’
Endline borrowed from Old Spice ‘Smell like a man, man.”
V/O heavily ‘inspired’ by the Miller time campaign without the wit and charm.
Apart from that they’re great.

And Old Spice borrowed it from Kimberly Clark’s
“Thanks for being a Snuggler’s mum, mum”
That ran in the 90’s and only goes to prove there’s nothing new – so, stop worrying about.
Oh cool, so it’s only the strategy and V/O that’s borrowed.
In that case, well done to all involved.
Product shot makes it look like a liquid parma. Very man man.
Didn’t Fosters UK just do the sunscreen gag?
Let’s all agree to stop using that voiceover.
The second spot is piss funny. Great work.
These are good. It’s good to throw a stake in the ground and make a play for a market that isn’t traditionally one that brands like this go after. It takes balls.
And yes, character voices are used a lot these days, but so what. Old Spice didn’t invent it.. They just did it really well. So no, these aren’t a copy… although the endline is very similar.
Nice work though.
I believe this VO may actually be Sam Elliot, which gives rather a few points in my opinion.
It’s not like the Old Spice VO, it’s like the Miller Time VO which has been trotted out endlessly lately. Look em up – they’re classics.
Actually Sam Elliot? Good score. He’s kind of the original of VOs you gotta admit
Is that Sam Elliot as the voice.
Love that bastard.
Should have got an oscar for roadhouse.
Nice work.
More like the Sam Elliot genre, boys. A thousand bucks says it’s a local voice collecting a character voice fee.
It really is Sam Elliot.
