Framepool/LBB/Fireflies Challenge call for entries

This short-film competition is aimed at directorsfrom all over the world, who want to present their films to a highly prominentjury – whilst supporting a good cause at the same time.

The works will be judged by a jury of advertisingindustry heavyweights including Mark Tutsell (Leo Burnett), Jake Scott (RSA),Olivier Altman (Publicis), Steffen Gentis (BBDO Proximity), Ringan Ledwidge(Rattling Stick), Mike Clear (2010 Winner/Mother), Wolf Jaiser and SandyWatson Scott (The FireFlies).

The deadline is May 11th 2011 and the winners will be honoured during the Cannes Lions Festival on June 23rd 2011.

The FireFlies are committed to raising awareness and money for the fightagainst Leukaemia.

Each year amateur cyclists from the ranks of the advertisingand film world participate in the “FireFlies Tour” and cycle across the Alpsfrom Geneva to Cannes – inspired by the courage it takes to fight cancer but aswell by compassion and the will to contribute to this fight.

The Framepool/ LBB/ FireFlies Challenge is  free to enter and a great showcase for directors and their teams. The ten best films will be presented during Cannes.

Additionally, the filmmakers profit from numerous communicationactivities, screenings and the distribution of DVDs across the world – this willguarantee the maximum awareness of their work. Contestants are asked to craft a beautiful piece of work, 30″ to 3 minutes long, showing their take on the meaning of the word ‘compassion’ in its widest form.
