Todd Waldren.jpgTodd Waldron is to join McCann Worldgroup Singapore as executive creative director, replacing Farrokh Madon who resigned a few months ago.

Born in the US but spending most of his life in Asia, Waldron has extensive experience of working in Singapore and Hong Kong and returns to Singapore from New Zealand where he was most recently executive creative director at M&C Saatchi.

Waldron’s appointment is the most recent in a series of new hires at McCann Worldgroup in Singapore, with almost a completely new suite of senior management at the agency.

Says Ben Lightfoot, CEO of McCann Worldgroup Singapore: “Todd’s appointment reflects the huge transformation our business has undergone both globally and at a local level. It’s time to  throw away what you thought you knew about McCann because everything has changed.

“Together with Todd and the other members of the team here in Singapore, McCann is set to make waves, providing highly creative, transformational solutions to our clients that will lead the industry. Todd is passionate about this change and knows how to make it happen not to mention that his experience in this region and overseas is unmatched, bringing a fresh approach and real energy to our business.”

Waldren has a track record of producing some of the best award winning work in his field, in particular combining traditional advertising with digital and interactive platforms. He has created award-winning work for clients such as Levi’s, Axe (Lynx), McDonald’s and Reebok. Under his creative leadership, BBH Asia Pacific was twice named Agency of the Year, in 2004 and 2006 .

Speaking of his new role Waldren commented: “Every agency talks about creativity and change, but at McCann it’s really happening;  a new Global CEO, a raft of huge creative hires, a new regional MD, in Singapore a new CEO, client service director and now me – executive creative director. It really doesn’t get any fresher than that, working together as we rip up the plan, start anew and maintain the positive feeling that comes with change. Exciting times, so watch this space.”
