A multi-skilled filmmaker, whose credit listings include directing, editing andcinematography across commercials, music videos, shorts and feature films, Doolan looks forward to joining the production company.

Says Doolan: “I am thrilled to work with such an established and reputable Sydney film company and to bring on board my many years of feature film and music video industry experience as I establish myself further into the world of commercial television production.”

As the winner of three AFI Awards, one for his editing on Sundance winning feature Animal Kingdom and two for his short Miracle Fish (working alongside producer Drew Bailey), Doolan has also worked on high profile commercials for brands including Hyundai and Singapore Airlines.

In 2010, Doolan was the recipient of an Oscar nomination for Miracle Fish, which he wrote and directed. His other films have been screened at Tropfest, Flickerfest and The International Film Festival. He won Best Editing at The St Kilda Film Festival for director Nash Edgerton’s short film Fuel.

In his early days of feature film editing, Doolan assisted legendary editor Jill Bilcock on Moulin Rouge and has previously shot and edited pre-visualisations on George Lucas’ Star Wars: Episode 111. In addition, Doolan has edited David Michod’s short Crossbow and Anthony Hayes’ debut feature Ten Empty.

Stepping up as a director in his own right, Doolan looks forward to working with established production company Brilliant Films.

Executive producer of Brilliant Films Stephanie Ceccaldi believes that Doolan will bring a fresh aesthetic and an unparalleled attention to detail to future Brilliant Films’ productions.

Says Ceccaldi: “It’s rare that you find an amazing story teller like Luke, who fits into the commercial mold. I do believe that his talent will do incredibly well with an established and selective market. His understanding of film is second to none and will be appreciated by the

Creatives.”
