Cleve_Cameron-web.jpgJWT New Zealand has appointed Cleve Cameron to the role of creative director, filling the vacuum left after the departure of executive creative director Peter Ogden, who resigned in September to return to Sydney for family reasons.

With a multi-discipline, award-winning range of experience on both sides of the Tasman, Cameron will take responsibility for all creative output from JWT’s New Zealand office.

Originally from Wellington, Cameron has worked for a wide range of agencies including Saatchi & Saatchi Wellington, Naked Sydney, BMF, and most recently at Affinity ID in Auckland, where he was appointed CD in March this year. While at BMF, Cameron won an Integrated Gold Cannes Lion for his work for Goodman Fielder.

Says JWT managing director Simon Lendrum: “Cleve thinks of the genuinely new. His willingness to explore beyond the traditional has repeatedly resulted in great work, often ahead of its time.

“As consumers become ever-more indifferent to brands and advertising, we need to be increasingly creative and resourceful to overcome this apathy. Cleve is a genuine creative force, and I’m looking forward to putting Cleve together with Jacqueline Smart, our Head of Strategy, and seeing what results.”

Cameron’s further creative endeavours extend to music recording, short film production and a novel.
