Thick as Thieves director Zoe McIntosh awarded SPADA NZ Young Filmmaker of the Year 2011

Piczoe 1.jpgThick As Thieves director Zoe McIntosh has been recognized by SPADA NZ as the 2011 Young filmmaker of the year.

This coveted award recognizes McIntosh’s award-winning feature documentary ‘Lost In Wonderland’ and her short film ‘Day Trip’.

It also acknowledges the many international and local awards her work has garnered in the past year including Best Documentary at the 2010 Qantas Film & TV awards and Best Performance in a Short Film, as well as recognition from many prestigious International film festivals including  Robert De Niro’s Tribeca Film Festival in New York 2010.

This award reflects both McIntosh’s intuitive skill and acuity in capturing the stories and experiences of real people and her cinematic, visual imagination, underpinned by her Masters degree in Fine Arts.

In her first 6 months in commercials she has completed projects for Vodafone, Women’s Refuge, and Save Seven.
