Bonds set to launch ’12 Days of Christmas’ integrated campaign via Banjo, Sydney

CB Exclusive – Banjo Sydney is set to launch a new integrated campaign for Bond’s in time for Christmas.
The lead spot, which goes to air on Sunday, features the traditional song ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ which is given a radical twist.
Each of the scenarios is reinvented right down to Rachel Taylor as the partridge in the pear tree.
The music was re-recorded and sung by Sydney singer-songwriter Jack Ladder (real name Tim Rogers, brother of commercials director Steve Rogers). The commercial was shot by Alex Smith who also shot two previous Bonds’ commercials Mash and Kaleidoscope.

Brilliant. Well done Banjo!!
That is stunning. Well done to all involved.
great ad. every scene brings a big smile. great music. goodonyas.
Whodunit?
When’s Nick Cave suing?
Apart from that, very cool.
Clever adaptation, should work a treat
6 geese a laying?
4 calling maids?
Should have tried harder on these two vignettes and it would have been great.
Great stuff guys!
On ya Jonty!
They brung back their cool
Delicious!
@ The Boatman
Really? Nick Cave? I thought it sounded like Jack Ladder…. Oh… And it IS!
Great stuff Georgia. This is brilliant.
Well done guys. Put a smile on my face. Simple, witty… good*.
*disclaimer: don’t work there, don’t know them
Love it, guys. shame there’s only twelve days…
Ad of the year! Brilliant work
Love it. Best Bonds work in ages.
What a great agency for bonds! I feel a gold lion coming for banjo!
this is so good i’m cranking
Bonds advertising is back. Nice work indeed.
Hmmm… must be a lot of Banjo staff on here..
A Bonds ad with an idea. Unusual. And well done.
Am I missing something?
Didn’t Clems win Bonds’ ‘next big project’ a couple of months ago?
Banjo should do all the Bonds TV work!
Great ad. Great idea. Probably because Banjo has creatives ..The Palace has no creative department so had no chance.
Once again.Great concept but not quite there with the execution. But hey – new agency same marketing department.
I heard this was shot in 3 days!! Epic work guys..
What a genius idea to have Rachael Taylor eating a can of pears!
Banjo staff you’re being a little obvious in your comments… This is good. Not great. And not lion worthy – c’mon. But nice all the same.
To the people bagging the palace – this ad is exactly in the mould of what the Palace set up, so i wouldn’t get on your high-horse.
(i don’t work for palace or banjo).
@3.34pm
Georgia and Jon were Bonds at the palace for along time. They chose to leave.
Georgia has continued what she started. It is a shame that nearly everyone with any talent, in any department, in both offices has left…..wonder why?
It was once great, now it flounders. Bonds is back to where it was and should be and most likely will only get better moving forward.
Just leaves me wondering what the heck the Campaign Palace have been doing. Best Bonds spot in many many years. Very nicely done. Well done Banjo.
I agree with creatives point above . Anyone with any creative, planning or account service talent has left The Palace ? For those still there stop your bitterness and be happy for those doing great work in other agencies .
It’s a brilliant ad ! Georgia is the perfect creative fit for the Bonds brand . Mark and Reed what are you guys bringing to the creative table?
Im not a fan of the Palace, and don’t really rate Banjo at at all…..but this a great effort. Simple, well executed and completly different from the past ads – not exactly shooting out the lights, but a bloody good for a first up at bat. There is a little hesitation, in that – is this really that good? or is it more of a case of the previous ads done by the palace were absolute crap. Either way , Im sure the client will be more than happy with this effort. I bet there will be lots of fingers and toes crossed at TCP, hoping Pansonic dont see this campaign – creatively TCP seem so far behind the curve it’s just a joke.
It’s nice. But the amount of overwhelming, saccharine comments on here has turned me off it.
(If you’re going to you spruik your own work at least try writing it in different tones of voice.)
Well done banjo….good ad and credit where credit is due. But given the shit that the palace has produced from a creative perspective lately…Sarah M dancing around in her undies, RT in a swimming pool ( they really went outside the box on those), Rommy Gulla being pranked (easily the worst campaign and PR mess for 2011 – you know its bad when the client has to issue their PR to try and limit the damage) the creative bar is not that high at all – infact it is more like a stick on the ground that you can step over rather than a bar.
I would say that Banjo have got exactly the result they were after….Bonds will probably never use TCP ever again and given the quality of this ad and the amateur level of creative at the Palace….why would they.
Best ad I have ever seen – I love it – unique and creative – but most of all I just want to go out and buy bonds
I am SICK of this ad and only came to this page because it sounds like Nick Cave but then it doesnt; parts of it arent NC. It’s bloody annoying 🙁
This is the most depressing and annoying commercial ever!!!! Who is the idiot singing??????
I reckon this is the best ad in years. and yes, for once I remember
the product the ad is for. well done.
Great ad, Jack Ladder for the uninitiated is a perfect sound for this. On a side note – publicly criticising behind an anonymous moniker is gutless and self serving..
fanbloodytastic – this ad makes me happy. Moreso it makes me relaxed about my upcoming obligations. Pity it can/will only be used over silly season – except for 12 days song would be great all year round. Great to see and hear an ad that doesn’t offend any of my senses. Keep it for next xmas and the next xmas – ad infinitum. So much better than garish other xmas offerings. (I have nothing to do with the industry.)
Why didn’t Bonds run with their 2011 campaign again in 2012??? It was F*cking awesome. Their Christmas 2012 TVC is shit!
