Vogue online shopping night set for Wednesday November 30 in push for pre-Christmas sales

Picvogue 30 nov 1.jpgMark Kelly, group publisher, Lifestyle at News Magazines, today announced that Vogue’s Online Shopping Night (VOSN) will return on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, tapping into Vogue Australia’s vast community of fashion lovers to drive online retail sales in the lead-up to Christmas.

Says Kelly: “The inaugural Vogue Online Shopping Night on June 8, 2011 was an unprecedented success.

Participating retailers reported a huge spike in daily online traffic and sales, so it made sense to throw our support behind fashion brands and shopping e-tailers once again by hosting Australia’s biggest online shopping event in the lead-up to Christmas.”

Dozens of brands and shopping sites took part in the inaugural VOSN on Wednesday, June 8.

Over 35,000 unique browsers visited the Vogue website between 5pm and midnight, and an additional 6,000 fans signed up to Vogue Australia’s Facebook page over the course of the campaign.

VOSN was also the third top trending topic on Twitter in Australia throughout the night.

On November 30, more than 80 brands and shopping sites will participate in the second Vogue Online Shopping Night.

At the Vogue Australia media hub, the team from Vogue Australia and Vogue.com.au will join some of Australia’s leading designers, including Akira Isogawa, Leona Edmiston and Josh Goot. They will create a constant stream of tweets, interviews and content promoting the night’s best special offers and Christmas gift ideas to more than 50,000 Facebook and Twitter fans.

News Magazines is now making VOSN a regular online event that supports Australian designers – and Vogue Australia’s advertisers – by prompting consumers to purchase,” says Zara Curtis, commercial director at News Magazines.
