Sonar Music picks up 2 more awards at the 2011 Australian Guild of Screen Composers Awards

winners nov 221.jpgIn only its second year of business, boutique Sydney music and sound production house Sonar Music have proven themselves amongst the best in Australian Screen composition.

The Multi-award winning collective picked up 2 more awards at the Australian Guild of Screen Composers Awards last week.

Thumbnail image for the slap.jpgOther Sonar compositions for TV series this year include the controversial ABC series The Slap – Antony Partos’s soundtrack avail on itunes, Channel 7’s Wild Boys, and Jono Ma’s eclectic and catchy theme song for Stay Tuned, a new music show on ABC3 which won this years ATOM award for Best Children’s Factual Show.

BEST MUSIC FOR A DOCUMENTARY went to composer Matteo Zingales for his work on the feature length documentary Lachlan Macquarie: Father of Australia.

Some of the TVC highlights for this year include ongoing campaign with Innocean for the acclaimed Hyundai Alantra / 401 spots, and the hilarious Imperial Leather re-make of an old classic. Rename Speed gained international recognition when it won gold in this years Spikes Asia award for  ‘Best Use of Social Media Marketing’, Directed by Sonar’s Andrew Lancaster this online campaign changed the name of the town Speed to SpeedKills.

hunter nov 221.jpgThe Hunter, starring Willem Dafoe is currently screening in selected cinemas and the beautifully haunting soundtrack is can be found on itunes .
