Vanderfield (above right) has set up shop in Auckland to serve the local market with ex Curious Film director, Josh Frizzell (above, second from right) and producer, Katie Millington (above left).

Says Vanderfield: “I left New Zealand twenty years ago after working at Mojo Auckland and started repping NZ based Directors in Australia. At the time, there were no New Zealand directors or production companies active in the Australian market and in those days there was some resistance from Aussie agencies to NZ directors.

“These days it’s very much one market and with budget pressures and the strong AUD, it feels like a good time to come full circle and open up shop in Auckland”.

“With Josh Frizzell and Andy Morton (above second from left) we have some great talent on board. Katie Millington will be Executive Producer and front 8com in New Zealand.  Katie has done plenty of work in NZ and knows the local scene well”, Vanderfield said.

8com is considered one of the leading production houses in Australia with an experienced roster of directors covering all genres of the business.

Digital content creators Infinity Squared will also be available through 8com in Auckland.

Infinity Squared is a creative company dedicated to creating, producing and distributing brand funded and original entertainment working in all formats and across all platforms- online, mobile, TV and film.

“TVC’s are still our core focus, however some of our Directors now cross over into the content work for new business.  Infinity Squared is an exciting and new prospect for New Zealand agencies, as they offer an entirely fresh approach to the digital realm. With Josh and Andy, Infinity Squared and the Australian roster of 8com directors I’m confident we will be a strong creative force In New Zealand”, said Vanderfield.
