Colenso BBDO took home 12 Lions, ahead of George Patterson Y&R Melbourne and Whybin\TBWA Sydney with 8 apiece.

GPY&R Melbourne won the most Gold Lions during the week, taking home 4, aheasd of Colenso BBDO with 3 and Whybin\TBWA Sydney with 2.

The most interesting development at this year’s Festival was the rise of Ogilvy Sydney, which was placed fourth in Australasia, winning seven Lions – the biggest haul in its history, until only two years ago having to put up with the Singo ‘no awards’ mantra since the early 90s. However, Chris Ford, the American ECD responsible for the ‘Share a Coke’ idea, left the agency back in May 2011 – as did the creative team who worked on it soon after.

Australia won a record 59 Lions this year, almost three times the NZ total of 20.
