It aims to advance the next generation of innovators in travel, film, business, fashion and design to do extraordinary things with the power of the Ultrabook device inspired by Intel.

The first collaboration between Intel and W Hotels worldwide launches in Australia this week with Four Stories, an innovative screenplay competition. Four Stories combines technology and artistry to encourage aspiring filmmakers worldwide to submit original screenplays from today until August 30.

Filmmaker Roman Coppola (co-writer of The Darjeeling Express and Moonrise Kingdom) and a panel of judges will select three winning scripts to be transformed into ten-minute short films by his production company, The Director’s Bureau, and starring a talented cast. Each will be set in a W Hotel in a different location around the world and feature the Ultrabook as a central element of the script. Coppola will write and direct the fourth short film in the series.

Says Anna Torres, national marketing manager, Intel Australia: “We are delighted that Australians are being invited to be a part of Four Stories in what marks the first of a number of exciting creative brand collaborations to be announced for The Ultrabook Experience.

“Australia’s film talent is globally renowned, and this competition is a great opportunity for rising filmmakers to elevate their work onto the world stage and gain access some of the best film talent.”

Throughout 2012, The Ultrabook Experience will unveil grand-scale projects with innovators in travel, film, business and design. These projects include collaboration between Levi’s and Intel where notable Levi’s brand advocates will join forces with their social media network to support their chosen philanthropic cause. Intel will also join forces with Coke Zero on another initiative that will launch in Brazil later this year. Further information on both of these partnerships is yet to be released.

Says Johan Jervoe, vice president partner marketing Intel: “We are in the midst of an evolution of the arts through the power of everyday technology. A new generation of artists can bring film, music, design and art to life more easily because they no longer have to compromise. They can have one device, the Ultrabook, with both performance and portability, so they can readily share their creations at the touch of a keyboard button.”

Inspired by Intel, Ultrabook is a new category of computing devices that will increasingly give people the most complete and satisfying, no-compromise and more secure computing experience in one, sleek and portable device. With great battery life and offered at mainstream price points, Intel expects Ultrabook devices to be as transformational to mobile computing as Intel® Centrino® Mobile technology was more than eight years ago.
