2013 LOTUS AWARDS.jpgAdFest is now inviting agencies and production companies in the AsiaPacific region including Australia and New Zealand to enter the 2013 Lotus Awards.

“As well as welcoming entries from the Middle East, we have made some important changes to our entry criteria. These changes mirror the evolution of the communications landscape and ensure AdFest remains relevant and cutting-edge,” says Vinit Suraphongchai, Chairman of the AdFest Working Committee.

The newly formed AdFest Collective has made several improvements to next year’s Lotus Awards. Cyber Lotus will now be called Interactive Lotus, reflecting the rise of mobile and other interactive channels, while 360 Lotus is now called Integrated Lotus.

AdFest is also introducing two new categories: Creative Effectiveness Lotus, and Mobile Lotus.

While Lotus Roots is still one of AdFest’s flagship award categories, it will become a sub-category within all Lotus Award categories, celebrating ideas that are inspired by local customs, cultures and traditions.

Entrants can now enter Lotus Roots through the appropriate Lotus category, providing a description and insights into how the entries are culturally relevant. Winners are determined by the Jury Presidents’ panel, which also presides over the Integrated Lotus & Innova Lotus entries.

The AdFest Collective’s six executive members are: Akira Kagami, Founder & President of Dentsu New School as well as Executive Advisor of Drill Inc. in Tokyo; Brett Michell, Director at Pollen Digital, Sydney; David Guerrero, Chairman and CCO of BBDO Guerrero/Proximity Philippines in Manila; George Mackenzie, Managing Director of Robber’s Dog in Auckland; Ravi Deshpande, Chairman & Chief Creative Officer of Contract India in Mumbai; and Ted Lim, Chief Creative Officer of Leo Burnett Singapore.
