monteiths.jpgMonteith’s Brewing Co. and Colenso BBDO have released their latest Monteith’s brand TVC, which hits TV this March.

Directed by Steve Rogers, the entire ad was filmed in a single shot on a purpose-made set. Cast and crew quickly changed dressings, props and entire walls as the camera rolled. The 60 second shot was a culmination of extensive art department research, two days of choreography and plenty of patience. During each take, a behind the scenes camera captured the organised chaos unfold.

The 60 second story of Monteith’s follow the footsteps of the lead actor as he narrates the history of Monteith’s thought a series of changing backdrops. Starting in the 1860’s, in the heady gold mining days of the West Coast when Stewart Monteith set up his brewery, after a stint in jail, the story moves through to the 1940’s and finishes in a modern day Monteith’s bar.

Says Jennie Macindoe, Monteith’s marketing manager, Jennie Macindoe: “We are excited to have a Monteith’s brand TVC back on New Zealand TV’s after such a long time. Our intention for the new advert is to entertain viewers with a creative depiction of the history and heritage of Monteith’s. The result is a truly creative visual masterpiece which we feel cleverly communicates the Monteith’s history all in one take, and truly brings the story of Monteith’s to life.”

The 60sec Monteith’s brand TVC has a high-impact media schedule through to May. In addition there are also four 15sec product TVC’s featuring Monteith’s Crushed Apple Cider, Monteith’s Summer Ale, Monteith’s Pacific Pale Ale and Monteith’s Brewers Series.
