Ed St Giles Pic.pngEd St. Giles, the critically acclaimed director of BBC2’s The Little Paris Kitchen; Cooking with Rachel Khoo, has joined The Sweet Shop for global representation. The move marks St. Giles first foray into advertising, having helmed some of the UK’s best known and most talked about TV shows.

Director and producer for The Little Paris Kitchen, St. Giles was solely responsible for the style and look of the show. St. Giles showed an ability to work with an array of nonprofessional cast, garnering natural performances. The show has been nominated for the 2012 TV Choice Awards.

Having worked in television for 15 years, St. Giles has directed shows for every major terrestrial channel. Specialising in cooking programmes, he has previously directed Masterchef, Celebrity Masterchef and Gordon Ramsay’s Best Restaurant. Along the way he has worked with some of Europe’s best chefs, including Michel Roux Jr, Marcus Wareing, Rene Redzepi, Helen Darroze, Tom Kitchin, John Torode and of course Rachel Khoo and Gordon Ramsay.

St. Giles’ next show Simply Italian will air on Channel 4 from Monday July 30th and he will direct the next series of The Fabulous Baker Brothers for the channel.

Says Wilf Sweetland, EP and managing director of The Sweet Shop: “We’re really excited to have Ed on board. He’s shown that he can create beautiful, engaging films whether working in a huge studio environment or in a tiny Parisian flat. And with The Little Paris Kitchen he proved that he can make something contemporary and unique, despite working in the most tried and tested of formats.”
