Calling for Judges to join 2014 AWARD Jury

Australasia’s pre-eminent creative industries body, the Australasian Writers and Directors Association (AWARD), has invited Sir John Hegarty to be chairman of judges for the 2014 AWARD Awards.

One of the world’s most awarded and respected admen, Sir John is co-founder of global ad agency, BBH, overseeing the organisation’s creative output across its six international offices. Having worked at the forefront of the creative industry for more than six decades, he has been responsible for a range of ground-breaking campaigns for the likes of Audi, Lego and Levi’s – including the fashion brand’s iconic ads starring Nick Kamen, Brad Pitt, and the furry yellow puppet, Flat Eric.

Says AWARD chairman Mark Harricks: “It is a great privilege to welcome Sir John Hegarty as the 2014 AWARD Awards chairman of judges. His wealth of knowledge and experience has seen him acquire and assess creative industry awards all around the world. Through his international perspective and accomplishments, he will ensure a world-class standard of judging is maintained across the panel, helping to provide a globally respected platform to showcase the creative talent in our region.”

Says Sir John Hegarty: “This is one of the most exciting times to be in the advertising industry. We have to make sure the creative work reflects that.”

The awards are renowned for recognising the finest creative minds from Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.  Approaching its 35th year, the ceremony will take place in March 2014.

AWARD is now recruiting judges for its 2014 jury. Judges must be AWARD members and can be based in Australia, New Zealand or Asia, however, all must be available at the beginning of February in Sydney to participate in the judging process. To be eligible for selection, interested individuals need to submit a hundred word note on their suitability for the job in addition to a short biography. To nominate, email Jo at AWARD.

Call for Entries is also now open, and closes on 1st November, 2013. Late fees apply for entries submitted after this date (+15%).
