Comprised of top minds representing brands from the National Basketball Association to Samsung to the San Francisco 49ers, jurors will deliberate and debate the best content and creative in sports.

The winners of the second-annual CLIO Sports Awards will be announced July 8 at an exclusive event held at Cipriani Midtown in New York. Online submissions will be accepted through April 3.

Says Nicole Purcell, president, CLIO Awards: “We are raising the stakes for CLIO Sports now in its second year. We’ve gathered an esteemed panel of experts to help decide who has the best idea of the year from a very competitive crop. The creative surrounding sports advertising, from spots in the Big Game to Gatorade’s farewell to Derek Jeter, is often at the crux of pop culture, and we’re excited to honor the finest work.”

An extension of the CLIO legacy, this year CLIO Sports has teamed with USA Today Sports, a natural partner in helping to promote the dynamic and still growing work showcasing athletes, leagues and associations, media and news outlets, teams and brands, all considered for submission. New this year, CLIO Sports and USA Today Sports will launch the Fan Favorite Award, allowing the public to vote on the best creative from 2014. Dave Morgan, president of USA Today Sports, will announce the winner during a special ceremony segment.

Says Mark Tatum, NBA deputy commissioner and COO: “Marketers across the sports landscape continue to raise the bar with new and creative ways to reach fans through meaningful campaigns that build upon their love of sports. This has been an incredible year for sports marketing, and the panel is going to have a tough job evaluating the groundbreaking work we’ve seen across the industry.”
