Whether Kiwis win, come second or just compete, 2015 has been and will continue to be a big and successful year for New Zealand sport – driven largely by a commitment and bond within NZ teams.

With winter fast approaching, whether Kiwis are part of the elite or a dedicated weekend warrior they rely on their teammates to encourage and motivate them to get out there and train – that’s team spirit.

Team spirit is something that Rebel Sport recognises in New Zealanders and are calling out in its latest campaign.

The new spot is part of an integrated campaign intended to get behind the individual as well as celebrate Rebel’s collective sporting success. It’s the result of a collaboration between Ogilvy & Mather and The Sweet Shop, directed by Mark Albiston.

Says Albiston: “The script was a moveable beast that had to evolve with the talent we had available, and some of the best ideas were generated through this process. Ogilvy and Rebel were open to working with this approach, freeing up the process and keeping the idea growing.”

Real sports teams were cast in the campaign including Waitemata Rugby Club, Ponsonby Rugby Club, Auckland Hockey Association, Auckland Basketball and Shore Rovers Netball Club.
