There have always been non-agency folk who thought they could do it just as well as ‘real’ creatives and there always will be. Perhaps with all the references and techniques available now via the net, they’ll do it less amateurishly. Meanwhile, judging by most of the advertising out there, work created by agency creatives is becoming less and less distinguishable from that created by non-agency types. Perhaps the amateurs are becoming more professional. Perhaps the tools make it possible to make the work look more professional. Meanwhile, a quick read of the comment by ‘Angus’ on Scamp’s thread makes me grateful I’m a decade removed from the industry. It sounds even more hideous and incomprehensible than it was.
