Do you have to have won a pencil to judge at AWARD?
Or at least an award?
I won’t be entering. Presumably because of the PC brigade there are people who haven’t won an award in five years and people who haven’t won an award at all on the panel.
Some talented and awarded people too but after last year’s debacle I’ll save my money for Cannes.
Where are the kiwis? The Thai judges? Philippines? China? Japan?
It’s an all-beige jury…
I have to agree. This looks like the cast of I’m a celebrity get me out of here.
Not much to see at all.
To the three last commenters, poor you. I actually seriously pity you. Exactly like not getting an invite to the party and standing outside throwing rocks screaming ‘this party sucks’. Fools.
Why is a headhunter judging creative?
@I was there. You’re so narrow minded and childish. She’s not just a headhunter, she’s highly experienced and understands creative work more than you ever will. Stop being a douchebag and think… maybe she’ll bring something different to the table so it’s not all the same person. Isn’t that creative enough for you? Sorry if you don’t know what that means because you’re busy being a miserable cow 🙁
Nothing poor about it. I’ve been to that party many times, this year’s looks like they’ve swapped the Veuve for Yellowglen.
But if you’re cheap drunk, sup up….
Why are there no judges from Asia? If you need to fill your female quota there are tonnes of highly awarded women from there apart from the three listed here who can compete in that sense.
Plus you’ll actually get a bit of diversity in the judging line up and maybe more entries from this countries.
This show is shrinking and shrinking.
It would have been nice to see some more women on the panel. Awarded women. I know for a fact that one female creative who was nominated by peers didn’t get a look in, in spite of taking out Golds and Silver over the past year. What a joke.
Plenty of non-awarded women on that panel.
Granted, several are awarded, but there are many more without a single bit o’ brass in their cupboard. I’d say the ratio is about 50-50 men and women, but about 75-25 awarded / non awarded.
The rules should be simple.
Each juror has to have won an award. Within the last five years.
If you can’t find enough women in Australia who fit that criteria (clearly you’re not trying hard enough), don’t get recruiters instead. Find a woman in the region, aka asia pacific who has the qualifications.
Diversity should be beyond gender – an almost all-white jury is embarrassing, especially when we’re on Asia’s doorstep.
Not really juries are they.
Just a collection of blokes from a pub in Surry Hills.
Award try again please.
This show is becoming very pale. Lots a judges who have no judging experience, notable point of difference, influence or awards.
The judges change but the bitterness of the industry just says the same.
Don’t blame them. They’re all treated like shit from their monkeyed up bosses who seem to think genius equates a complete lack of interpersonal skills.
Bosses who think genius actually applies when it comes to advertising, as if genius applies to creating a kitchen bench.
It’s not entirely their fault they vent on Campaign Brief from time to time.
First they said: “It’s too advertising, where are all the other disciplines?” They did it. Then they said: “It’s always the same old dudes, where is the new talent?” They did it. Then they went: “There’s not enough women”. They did it.
Then they went: “Those women are not awarded enough and where are The Asians?”
Jesus Christ people, grow the fuck up.
One point above, if you care to follow: there are plenty of women who are awarded and they aren’t on the jury. Pull your dick in and join a grown up conversation.
