One Show announces first round of winners: OZ scores 1 Gold Pencil, 3 Silver + 3 Bronze Pencils

Melanoma-likes-me-thumb-400x262-197165.jpgThe One Club has just announced the winners for the 43rd Annual One Show Awards in print and outdoor, design, direct, branded entertainment, responsive environments and public relations. Hosted by actor and comedian Michael Ian Black, The One Show awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencils at Gotham Hall in New York City. 

Australia has scored one Gold Pencil, three Silver Pencils and three Bronze Pencils. GPY&R Brisbane + Melbourne have scored the Gold Pencil in Direct for Melanoma Patients Australia ‘Melanoma Likes Me‘. Leo Burnett Sydney has scored two Silver Pencils, one in Design for WWF ‘Just‘ and one via Minds Eye Production London in Direct for Samsung Australia ‘Celebrity Tantrum‘. Atomic 212 is the other Silver Pencil winner in the PR category for Double Robotics ‘Lucy the Robot‘. Scoring a Bronze Pencil is M&C Saatchi Sydney via Bang PR in the Branded Entertainment for Blue Ball Foundation for ‘Game of Balls‘; DDB Melbourne in PR for Kidsafe ‘The Unconventional Oven‘ and Whybin\TBWA Group Melbourne in PR for ANZ ‘Equal Future‘.

There were 282 Pencils awarded – 76 Gold, 95 Silver and 111 Bronze – to winners from 27 countries.  Six Best in Discipline winners were also announced.

Says Kevin Swanepoel, CEO, The One Club: “Not only is Best in Discipline the top piece of work in an entire discipline, it is also up for contention for Best of Show. This year, The One Show received more than 20,000 entries.  Only 14 of them won Best in Discipline, representing the elite work at The One Show.”

Survival Billboard” for Microsoft by McCann / m:united / London.

Design:

“Nameless Paints” for Kokuyo by Dentsu / Tokyo

Direct:

The Interactive Form” for CANAL+ by BETC + BETC / Digital / Paris. 

Branded Entertainment:

#NOTCOMINGSOON” for Remy Cointreau / Louis XIII by FF / New York + Moonwalk / New York.

Responsive Environments:

“The Last Shot” for Jordan Brand by AKQA / San Francisco + LOS YORK / Los Angeles.

Public Relations:

Inspiring Spirit” for Scoot by Saatchi & Saatchi / Singapore + Sweeney Vesty / Singapore + Publicis / Singapore.

One Show winners in film, interactive, cross-platform, IP, social media, mobile, UX/UI and radio will be announced on Friday, along with special awards, including Best of Show, Penta Pencil, Agency of the Year, Network of the Year, Client of the Year, Holding Company of the Year and Green Pencil.

Friday’s ceremony will take place at Cipriani Wall Street.
