Australian PR agency Thrive launches in NZ
Independent Australian PR agency, Thrive, has announced the opening of its first office in Auckland, New Zealand due to client demand.
Thrive has a sixteen year history in the Australian market with offices in Sydney, Melbourne and most recently, Brisbane. The Auckland office announcement brings the agency’s total number of offices in Australasia to four. Thrive is best known for its highly successful work with some of Australia’s best known brands, such as supermarket giant Coles and telco heavyweight, Optus. The agency is one of the largest independent agencies in Australia. It has a long history of operating locally in the NZ market with campaigns for Twitter, Mattel and Callaway Golf over the past decade.
The agency is no stranger to the New Zealand market. It’s founder and managing director, Leilani Abels (pictured above), hails from Wellington. Thrive’s trans-tasman lead and 2IC in Sydney, Frances Wills, worked in PR agencies in Auckland before relocating to Sydney. She has an intimate understanding of the media landscape and cultural diversity in NZ. Wills will play a key role in accelerating the growth of the NZ operations.
Says Abels: “In Australia, Thrive is famous for delivering cut-through public relations campaigns that aim to ‘shift the dial’ and make a commercial difference for brands. We plan to continue to innovate and bring clever thinking to our current and new clients. We will be working with Australian and global companies looking to expand into the New Zealand market, along with New Zealand companies who are looking for a high impact PR offering and who are potentially seeking to expand into the Australian market. I believe that Thrive’s expertise can add great value for brands looking for a strategic and creative communications consultancy.”
The company is recruiting and will be based in new premises in Britomart.
Says Wills: “Thrive will deliver exceptional career opportunities for local PR talent. Not only will NZ based consultants have the chance to spearhead game-changing campaigns with the best local and global brands, but talent will also have the chance to learn and be a part of an agency that’s really going places.”
Thrive is a B2C and B2B PR agency that provides services including traditional and digital media relations, influencer relations, events, social media, sponsorship management and issues management. Thrive’s specialist categories include: Sport, Entertainment & Events, Food & Drink, Tech & Innovation, Health & Wellbeing, Home & Design, Not-for-profit & Community.

Tena Koe Leilani,
I know it is the long weekend, however if you have a moment please can you contact my husband and I.
0220967767.
I have been looking for the right “Fit’ PR Media Agency for a few months and have not been able to find anyone one who was passionate enough or had the vision of thinking outside the square. Also one that did PR in Australia and New Zealand.
We believe this is a wonderful opportunity for a PR Agency to take on, we just don’t want someone who is complacent and in a square box but is authentic, honest and has the ability and the Connections and Goods to do an exceptional Job.
This is an opportunity that has Strong Global connections.
Could you please speak to us. If not this long weekend on Tuesday.
We have a Global Happening not he 1st of November and we want to have a NZ and Australian Launch as although I am a New Zealand I am also an Australian Citizen and lived there for more than half my life. I live in Wellington with my husband now 9 years.
Thanking you. I hope you call 💜🦋🙏
