The closing night of Cannes is traditionally celebrated with a black tie gala, but this year The Sweet Shop has joined forces with vodka brand, 42BELOW, to create a suitably hip party called Private. Both companies have their roots in New Zealand, and strong links to the international creative community.

Strictly invite only, ‘Private’ will be held immediately after the Film, Titanium and Integrated awards are handed out. The location will be disclosed only to those lucky enough to get a custom made wristband for entry. The party will feature a world renowned DJ and 42BELOW global vodka professor Jacob Briars will mix specially designed cocktails.

“We don’t know why we think we can pull this off, but we think we can … and we promise not a single ice sculpture or lukewarm canapé in sight,” says a spokesperson for 42BELOW.

The Sweet Shop launched in New Zealand in 2001 and now has offices around the world. It has produced films for brands like Nike, Coke, Heineken and Sony and has won numerous Cannes Lions. Global vodka brand 42BELOW started in one man’s garage in Wellington, New Zealand before going on to be sold in the best bars and clubs around the world and becoming the world’s most awarded vodka.
