The Pool Grant calls on emerging photographers to submit entries; open 30 March – 30 April 2018
The POOL COLLECTIVE is seeking applicants for The Pool Grant, a program that provides $10,000 and a year of mentorship to an emerging photographer to complete a photographic project. At the end of a year, the recipient will showcase the completed series at a solo exhibition during Head On Photo Festival 2019.
A fully independent initiative,The Pool Grant is marked as one of the most creatively open opportunities for the arts community. Now in it’s 9th year,The Pool Grant is solely funded byThe POOL COLLECTIVE, who puts forth $10,000 each year to support it’s creative community by sharing it’s resources and expertise in an impactful and tangible way.
The POOL team works year-round on project management, infrastructure, promotion, marketing and sponsorships necessary to present The Pool Grant recipients with the opportunity to show their work to a wide audience.
A completely open brief, POOL looks for submissions from every genre. From portraiture to still-life, stylized to documentary, all approaches are welcome.
The Pool Grant is open to Australian and New Zealand residents over 18 years of age who have not earned their primary income from photography for more than three years. POOL is looking to be inspired by applicants’ ideas as well as their skills.
The POOL COLLECTIVE is a creative cooperative with artists working in the mediums of motion and still imagery.
