Misha McDonald’s Cannes Diary #5
Misha McDonald, creative director at TBWA\Sydney is representing Australia on the Cannes Outdoor Lions jury. McDonald, along with most of the other Australian and NZ jurors writes exclusively for CB.
I always thought a Cannes Lion looks like ‘Grimes’ on the decks.
Gender equality was such a big topic this year that I wouldn’t be surprised if Cannes removed the manes from their trophies to support the cause.

The ones who make ‘Hot and Spicy KFC chicken’ look like a space shuttle blasting off to find life on other planets – as it’s clearly obvious (from most categories we judged) that our Earth is being chocked by plastic, logged, mined and run by tweets from Donald Trump.
Judging often felt like ‘A Clockwork Orange’ pinned to a chair with eyes locked open at the screen – being subjected to the horrors of the world while being drip-fed with Rose.
