MAXUS PERTH INVESTS IN THE FUTURE WITH MURDOCH UNIVERSITY INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
The internship allows final-year marketing students from the Murdoch Business School to be suitably exposed to the particular needs of the advertising industry. George Graham, Associate Dean, Academic Partnerships, from Murdoch University’s School of Business welcomed the initiative.
“This arrangement between the School and Maxus Perth, which has been negotiated over the past six months, presents our final-year marketing students with a comprehensive practical training opportunity that will introduce them to the real world of business.”
Internships run for four-week intensive bursts during the university non-study periods. Students are required to complete a project; to create a channel strategy, plan and media schedule for a nominated company, which is then presented to Maxus management and Murdoch academic staff at the completion of the internship.
Maxus Managing Director, Glenn Hodgkin, said the internship offered valuable on-site training not available anywhere else in the country.
“We are delighted to have forged a partnership with Murdoch University and to be able to provide this program to potential members of the advertising industry. We believe it will be as rewarding for us as it will be for the students.”
The first internship, completed in mid July, proved to be very successful with the intern, Janine Gustavino, now a full-time employee. Gustavino is a final-year student studying a double major in Marketing Management; and Entrepreneurship and Innovation. She excelled in her internship and was offered a role as Media Assistant.
“It was a wonderful experience, not only was the team extremely friendly, they were also extremely passionate about media. It was a privilege to be given the opportunity and I’m excited to be offered employment.”

It is not clear what Janine is being exposed to in that photo but I'm sure in some small way it meets the particular needs of the advertising industry.
