BEN LEE ROCKS NOVA PARTY

| | Comments (7) | TrackBacks (0)
NOVABen Lee.jpgIs it too soon to be handing out the 'best party of the season' title?
Perhaps it is too soon, but one thing's for sure - the annual Nova Christmas party on the balcony of their Subiaco office is one not to be missed. The station again pulled out all stops today with plenty of food, booze and entertainment for the crowd of around 160 guests. The surprise of the day turned out to be the entertainment laid on by Nova managing director Gary Roberts, who topped last year's Sneaky Sound System when Ben Lee hit the boardroom and played 7 of his recent hits. It was a performance that even had diners at the Subi Hotel standing on the footpath to hear.
Here are a few photos from the CB camera.

Britney Spears has continued to enthral Australians with her diva antics and much publicised ‘comeback’ to record the highest number of web searches in 2008, however world events also rated highly for Australians according to annual rankings released today by Yahoo!7.
World news and trends were high on the agenda with the Beijing Olympics, global credit crunch and US election all in the top 10 searches. Panic in the world financial markets, the credit crunch, recession and the effects on the Australian market were all hotly searched-for terms as people turned to the internet for comfort and advice. After reality set in about the sustained nature of the economy, searchers switched from general updates on the financial crisis, to advice on how to ride out the financial storm in their own personal way. Similarly, Barack Obama and Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin were highly sought after in the lead up to, and during the exciting US Presidential election.
Heath Ledger came in at number two behind Britney, following the Australian actor’s tragic death in January and highly acclaimed role as the Joker in The Dark Knight. Angelina Jolie and Jessica Alba, both ‘yummy mummies’ in 2008 came in jointly at number four, with our golden girl Stephanie Rice in at number five.
Compared to the 2007 top searches, where celebrities and pop culture dominated the top 10 results (weather and real estate were the only news related issues at number two and three respectively), 2008 has seen a clear shift towards interest in global news and issues.
TopSearches.jpgAs Amanda Millar, Communications Manager for Yahoo!7 notes, “Our analysis of what  Australians search for each year is like a cultural barometer of what Australians find interesting and important. 2008 has been a big year for global news, particularly with the Beijing Olympics and global credit crisis, so it’s no surprise these have been high on the list of top searches for Australians.”
Rounding out the top ten were natural disasters/phenomena, including the devastating Chinese earthquake; Cyclone Nargis, the worst natural disaster in the recorded history of Burma; and finally Large Hadron Collier, the world’s largest and highest-energy particle accelerator that many predicted would cause the end of the world.
In addition to the overall top searches for 2008, Yahoo!7 has also collated the top 10 search results across various categories, including the most searched for Australian news stories, celebrities, farewells, products/shopping, social issues, sport, Olympians, economy, travel and health.
So at a glance what else was hot for 2008?
In national news, Australians were fervently searching for Heath Ledger, Kevin Rudd’s Sorry speech, David Hicks – as well as all things ‘Underbelly’ (hit TV series and Tony Mokbel’s movements). Unsurprisingly, Britney topped the celebrity searches, however young celebrities were also hot on the pulse – including 15 year old star Miley Cyrus, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens (both High School Musical 3 cuties) and even the adorable Suri Cruise (who came in just behind mum Katie Holmes).
In sport, Australians were well and truly gripped by Olympic fever – and particularly with the swimmers. Stephanie Rice, Michael Phelps and Eamon Sullivan were the most searched for Olympians, earning the gold, silver and bronze medal positions respectively – no doubt due to their performances both in and out of the pool!
Technology products – particularly the iphone and ipod nano – dominated the top products/shopping list, whilst travel specific searches for 2008 were clearly affected by the economic downturn. The Gold Coast was the top travel search, with the majority of the top 10 list mainly being domestic travel locations. The lemon detox diet topped the health search for 2008, no doubt inspired by its celebrity advocates, while HIV/Aids was the number one social issue searched for.
To find Yahoo!7’s Top Searches for 2008 go to yahoo7.com.au and search for Top Searches.

Binge.jpgThe national launch of the Binge drinking campaign took place this weekend with Nicola Roxon, Minister for Health launching the $20m plus campaign, “Don’t turn a night out into a nightmare.” The campaign created by 303 hit national TV screens last night and will be highly visible in press, outdoor, youth magazines and on line. The campaign that is designed to shock young drinkers, highlights the potential dangers of binge drinking and the serious long term consequences that can result.
The campaign highlights the fact that four people aged under 25 die after alcohol-related incidents in an average week, while 70 are hospitalised. It launches as schoolies week celebrations got underway in party spots on the Gold Coast, at Lorne in Victoria and Byron Bay.
"Young people think they are bulletproof. Well, they have to understand they're not bulletproof," the Health Minister said.
The campaign is part of the $53 million initiative outlined by Kevin Rudd in March this year. Creative team was Bryan Dennis and Julian Watt with direction from Steve Rogers at Revolver.
It's been a busy time for the agency with Federal Government projects. 303 recently launched the national Better Health campaign that is designed to combat obesity. The “How do you measure up?” campaign is spear headed by a national TV campaign which features an aging and increasingly heavy man walking along a tape measure. The campaign prompts people to review their own behaviour and provides positive steps that can be taken to better health.

The RAC has pushed back the next round of agency meetings to early December in their agency credentials review process. The review is a closed tender involving 303, Marketforce and incumbent The Brand Agency.
Marketforce's involvement is controversial considering they currently hold the conflicting SGIO account. Marketforce chairman John Driscoll said they spoke with IAG management, who are the parent company of SGIO in WA, before becoming involved. He said IAG understood Marketforce's reasons for being involved and they wanted to continue the association in WA. He admitted that local SGIO management were not as understanding and had expressed some disappointment that the agency had taken up the offer to submit.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR

| | Comments (2) | TrackBacks (0)
Dear CB,
A wry smile crept across my face last night while watching a ‘new’ red rooster spot on TV. There was the whole golden chook, on a plate, being served by mum to a ‘nuclear’ family who where looking on longingly as we cut to the ubiquitous ‘carving’ shot. Mum then had a flash back to ‘the olden days’ with her mum serving up a chook to the family.
As you know, I am a bit of a chook lover with a masters in chookology and couldn’t help seeing the irony in the ad that replicated not only the proposition, that red rooster was a ‘meal replacement’ and gave mum the opportunity to serve the family a good healthy meal just like the old days ( do I hear “traditional values” somewhere in the brief), but also many of the visual images created by Mojo for red rooster over 20 years ago with the much loved commercial “Aussie Sunday”.
Red Rooster.jpgI am in no way being critical of the ad, CB’s creative judges can do that if they wish. In fact, I like the ad (what chook lover wouldn’t?). It’s good that red rooster have re-ued the original positioning. It’s smart to get rid of the old ‘Sunday’ connection because we now take our kids to the Feral Brewery in the Swan Valley for Sunday lunch, and it’s not a bad sequel. Although nothing ever beats the original in my biased opinion.
The irony is that we continue to emphasise the importance of strategy and account planners, who must be trained by Unilever or Proctor and Gamble (that’ll help a lot in Perth!) and have clients that have Brand Insight departments, yet the proposition and basic execution for the new red rooster ad was written on the back of a beer coaster in a pub in Paddo by Mo and Jo 20 years ago.
Maybe we are going the full circle - again. Vaughan (Sutherland, ex CD of Mojo Perth) wherever you are, dust off the Fender Strat and put the spurs back on the boots, maybe we could breathe some life back into Emu export with “ I could do with an Emu how about you”, I’m sure ‘mateship in the mines’ is still a worthy proposition.
Perhaps we could stop the ongoing debates within Tourism and bring back “Say G’day to WA’. I’m not joking. Mojo did it successfully in the late eighties with ‘Happy little vegimites’ and ‘louie the fly’ (neither were their original creations but they made millions by bringing them back) Come on Vaughan, there could be a nice little earner in this mate!
Going back to red rooster, shock horror, what’s this I see, a traditional stereotypical mum serving up dinner to the kids! What are you thinking!  What about the physically disadvantaged single dad who has to look after the kids from two separate marriages, while his de facto partner, of unknown gender, is out working. How on earth did you get this through sexual discrimination, politically correct police at CAD. Will generation X and Y have a clue what your going on about? I didn’t see a dad in the spot. I can only hope he’s off camera watching the footy on a 50 inch plasma with an Emu export in his hand waiting for the ‘little lady’ to call him when dinners ready.  (Don’t you just love the old days).
Well done Renee and the team at 303, you’ve kept the spot true to its original intentions. All the spot needs is the line “Australia your chicken is ready” and change the end graphic to “gotta be red red ready” and if Mo and Jo could see it I’m sure they’d say “You ought to be congratulated”.

Simon on Halo Shoot.jpgThe accolades for Perth expat director Simon McQuoid (pictured left) continue with his ranking at No.3 in The Gunn Report’s annual World’s Top Director listing.
McQuoid, ex Adlink and Shorter FCB in the early 90’s, is now based in the USA and directs through Go Film. He was one of the directors involved in the hugely successful Microsoft XBox 360 Halo 3 campaign which ranked 7th and 11th in the Gunn Report’s most awarded TV commercials of 2008, 12th in the most awarded Interactive winners and 2nd in the most awarded ‘All Gunns Blazing’ category for Integrated ideas. The campaign was one of the world’s most awarded in 2008.
The Gunn Report tabulates award show wins. It combines the winners' lists from all of the major advertising award contests in the world - national, regional and global (in 2007 it was the world's top 36 shows for TV and top 22 shows for Print) thus to establish the annual worldwide league tables for the advertising industry.
One of Donald Gunn’s most interesting tables is the Most Awarded Commercials in the world. See them all here: Heading the list this year is Cadbury Dairy Milk ‘Gorilla’. Second is Epuron Wind Energy ‘Power of Wind’. Equal third is Skoda Fabia ‘Cake’ and Sony Bravia ‘Play-Doh’. And equal fifth is Petronas ‘Tan Hong Ming’ and Tide Stain Remover ‘Interview’.

WaterDetective.jpgThe Answer Agency has launched a new interactive website and summer campaign for Aqwest – the Bunbury Water Authority - aimed specifically at children.
The new site www.waterdetectives.com.au has been launched in conjunction with local schools and children taking part will be asked to read their water meters on a weekly basis and enter the data. The site has a calculator based on several important criteria and each respondent will be able to ascertain if their house is water wise.
TAA’s Greg Archer said the campaign has been put together as an investment in the future. “Children right now need to be water aware and embrace the responsibilities as if global warming happens as some predict they will have to manage and make critical decisions about water in this state.”
The campaign was launched with a four page pullout in colour in the Bunbury Mail with more activity during this coming summer and beyond.

PERTHNOW NUMBER 1 FOR BREAKFAST

Media Decisions.jpgIn celebration of being the number 1 WA-based news website, perthnow offered agencies the chance to win a fully catered champagne breakfast by corporate caterers, Heyder and Shears. To enter, agencies had to submit an imaginative photo of their team wearing ‘perthnow #1’ t-shirts. Media Decisions OMD won, with Maxus and Longtail close runners-up.

AFA YOUNGBLOODS 'FULL MOON LUAU'

| | Comments (20) | TrackBacks (0)
Thanks to The Brand Agency's Danielle Glenister for this report on the AFA Youngbloods' recent event.

FML_20.jpgIt was the perfect setting… warm weather, the slightest trace of balmy wind, a spectacular sunset over the sparkling Indian ocean and more than 300 advertising types from all areas of the industry partying at the biggest event in the Youngbloods WA’s history.
Summer was definitely in the air Friday the 14th of November on the enormous balcony at the City Beach Surf Club, where the Youngbloods Full Moon Luau marked the third and final event of the year in true Hawaiian style. The party was a kaleidoscope of colour as revellers went all out with their costumes. There were grass skirts, leis and Hawaiian shirts as far as the eye could see. The mood was high and a real sense of fun filled the air. Not surprisingly the summer event completely sold out securing its place as a massive follow up to the unprecedented attendance seen at the Winter Party.
Newly appointed president Elliott Woolf, taking over from Adam Grootveld, said “It was always going to be a major task to live up to the expectations created by the Black and White party, back in August. However through a massive effort put in by the Youngbloods team, we seriously outdid ourselves with the Full Moon Luau. The feedback has been amazing and the general consensus is that it was best event Youngbloods WA has seen.”
Agency personnel, clients, media reps and 3rd year university students were greeted with an “Aloha” and colourful leis from promotion models before being adorned in glow in the dark body paint. They danced the night away to DJ Cornflake amongst inflatable palm trees and tropical set decorations. They witnessed the dazzling fire twirling show performed by Fire N Motion and indulged in the many flavours of frozen cocktails. At the night’s end buses whisked the party people to Subiaco and a door list at The Red Sea ensured the evening kicked on well into the early hours of the morning.
Committee members Elliott Woolf (303), Danielle Glenister (The Brand Agency), Sarah Dalziel (TMP), Carly Davey (Trilogy) and Chris Baker (Marketforce) were joined by new additions Michelle McGrath (303) and Jaclyn Griffiths (Gatecrasher) in a 3 month planning and budgeting marathon to make certain it was a night that everyone remembered. “The Youngbloods committee really wanted to do something different with this event. In the past we have organised venues like Universal Bar and The Claremont, where all the work has been done for us and we just pay the bill at the end of the night, and these event have always been great. However this time we started from scratch and had to budget for everything from alcohol and DJ equipment to decorations and body paint. It was 3 months of solid planning for the night to go off the way it did,” Woolf.
A big thank you goes to the City Beach Surf Club for hosting the night. This caps off one of the most successful years in recent memory for the Youngbloods and the committee have big plans to take into 2009, officially leading the way as the top state in Youngbloods Australia when it comes to pulling of massive events.
Finally, the Youngbloods team would like to thank the following sponsors, without whom none of this year’s events would be possible: 92.9, The West, Stockman, Getty Images, Curtin University, Cineads, Meerkats and Daniel’s. To become a member of Youngbloods WA, email Elliott@303.com.au. You can find more photos on Facebook if you search for the group Youngbloods – WA.

In line with the PADC’s brand promise of 'Valuable Creativity', and in partnership with The West Australian, we are delighted to launch the “Creative Champions of the Year Awards”: one for agency staff and the other for clients.
“I believe that the PADC plays a critical role in our industry in helping to develop creative talent in Western Australia. Creativity doesn’t just reside in the creative department. All those involved in the process of developing great work need to be recognised”, said President, Jeff Champtaloup.
The Awards will go to individuals who have contributed most to the cause of great creative work.  Nominations could come from clients, account service, planning, production, digital or media.  Deadline for nominations is close of business on Friday, November 28, 2008.  (There will be a limit of two nominations for each category from individual organisations).
The West Australian’s sponsorship of the inaugural Awards is $2500 each towards a trip to the 2009 Caxton for both winners.
The successful nominees will be announced at the PADC Award Night to be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Friday, December 12, 2008.
The selection criteria and entry kits are available from the Club Manager, Elizabeth Bindon-Bonney at lizbb@padc.com.au or by Mobile: 0419 723 801.

MichaelJoy.jpgFormer Perth director Michael Joy has released his first feature film, Men’s Group.
It’s the story of Paul, Freddy, Cecil, Lucas, Moses and Alex, who meet once a week at Paul’s home to talk. When they begin they are complete strangers. They soon discover that they have something in common, being male. As trust grows between them they gradually begin to share as they learn to listen to each other. They discover that they are not quite so alone in their fears as they had presumed.
It was the highest scoring Australian feature film as voted by the audience at this year’s Sydney film festival.
Along with producer Neal Kingston, Joy formed Monster With Two Toes in the early-90s. It quickly became Perth’s top production company with a reputation for producing national standard work.
On the back of increasing work for eastern states agencies, Joy and Kingston closed Monster in Perth and relocated to Sydney to form a relationship with Adrian Hayward’s HAT Productions at the end of 1998.
Joy began developing Men's Group in 2006 in collaboration with producer John L. Simpson.
Men’s Group is currently showing at Cinema Paradiso.

NEW LIFESTYLE MAGAZINE FOR W.A.

| | Comments (4) | TrackBacks (0)
Western Australia’s magazine market is in for a major shake-up with the launch of a high-calibre new lifestyle magazine, Silver, soon to hit local shelves.
Making its debut later this month, the glossy 200-page bi-monthly magazine promises an entirely fresh and inspiring read for West Australian media consumers.
Driven by a philosophy of quality and individuality, Silver’s content includes engaging stories on fashion, health, travel, music, art, food and wine, aimed largely at women aged 20 to 45 who have a passion for staying in touch with the latest trends and styles.
Silver is being launched by newly-formed publishing company, Jet Media, led by local media identities, Kristen Watts and Amanda Walsh, alongside fellow director and business manager, Kathryn Ryding.
Having worked in the media industry for 22 years, Walsh is well known for her very public roles, ranging from the 92.9 Morning Crew to reporting on Channel 7’s Today Tonight and Seven News. She spent the past five years as News Director of Mix 94.5 and 92.9 – the number one and two-rating radio stations in Perth.
Formerly the Editor of The West Australian’s ‘Habitat’ and ‘Fresh’ magazine lift-outs, Watts has a successful background in publishing.  She has produced and self-published two coffee table books, including WA’s best-selling cookbook of 2007, Essence.
The magazine’s feature writers and contributors include Wendy Pryer (formerly The West Australian); medical specialist Dr Clay Golledge; journalist and newsreader Deborah Kennedy (Radio 6PR); movie critic Stephen Sunderland; finance guru Lynsey McDonnell (Austereo Perth); food aficionado and cook Kirsty Carre; chef Paul Zammit (Twisted Fork); craft specialist Lisa Cox; socialite Anthony von Leonhardi (Western Suburbs Weekly); and eco expert Mia Martin.
According to Walsh, the launch of Silver will fill a distinct gap in the WA magazine market.
“Up until now, Perth has not had its own magazine of the calibre of publications being produced in the Eastern States,” she said. “With the relative strength of the WA economy, we feel the time is right for this State to sustain its own quality magazine that is relevant and user-friendly for local readers, and appealing for advertisers. We believe our journalistic backgrounds, backed by an eminently credible team of writers, gives us the right formula for a successful magazine which will consistently perform well in the WA market.”
Silver will be available at newsagencies statewide for $5.95.
Cost-effective advertising packages are available to a select number of local and national businesses by contacting Silver’s Advertising Director, Trish Gentry on (08) 9381 7631.

A new year’s Austereo Radio Writers Award is underway, with the first two rounds having been judged.
The Brand Agency scored both finalists from July. Judges Andrew Tinning (Marketforce), Adam Barker (Gatecrasher) and Paul Coghlan (Meerkats) thought RAC 'Everything you own' by Kurt Beaudoin and REIWA 'The perfect place' by James Wills were the top spots for that month.
For August, judges Brett Wheeler (Rare), Steve Brown (Linc) and Drew Ridley (AdImpact) couldn’t separate the Lotterywest Lotto Father’s Day campaign of 3 commercials - ‘Got your nose', 'Piggy bank head' and 'Detachable thumb' - by Marketforce team Guy Hamilton-Howlett and Rob James.
These tracks now go through to the final judging, when the best agency radio commercial aired on Mix 94.5 or 92.9 will win its writer $20,000 cash and the client $20,000 worth of value-added promotion on the stations.
This will be the 15th year the cash prize has been awarded - an outstanding commitment by Austereo to fostering creative radio advertising in Perth.

LONGTAIL GETS ON THEIR BIKE

longtail_racing.jpgContinuing a long tradition of rev-heads in the industry, Longtail’s recently appointed digital developer, Tristan Bottrell, competed in the Kings of Wanneroo bike race last weekend. The agency sponsored Bottrell’s Suzuki, which he rode to a top ten finish in the 600cc class. “He did incredibly well – balls of steel even to compete” said Longtail principal Carlo Bertozzi, a bike fan himself (though at a more leisurely pace than Botrell!).

It seems that getting into an agency creative department in Perth is difficult but once in, it isn’t long before many creatives want out - not out of advertising, just out of Perth. They soon realise that Perth’s a pretty small market and the lure of working on a bigger stage and seeing a bit of the world becomes irresistible.
Here’s a list of the creatives we could think of who have left Perth:
Aislinn Andrews, Steve Back, Ian Bear, Jon Bird, Reed Collins, Brett Colliver, Lana Daubermann, Brendan Donnelly, Scott Dungate, Matt Eastwood, Dan Forrestal, Nat Fryer, Mat Garbutt, Brett Gascoigne, Dave Govier, Ben Green, Brendan Guthrie, Maisen Hall, Tim Hall, Joe Hawkins, Gordon Haynes, Liz Hinde, Scott Hitchcock, Pat Lennox, Roger McAuliffe, Sherri McIver, Simon McQuoid, Subha Naidu, Tony Osborne, Jason Ryan, Levi Slavin, Chris Swift, Ryan Wilson, Steve deWolf.
That’s a pretty good pool of talent and there are probably a few we’ve missed.
A couple of issues ago we wrote about awards being a young creative's ticket out of here, and recalled Steve Back’s famous comment that his motivation for doing award-winning work is fear of having to come back and work in Perth. It’s a fair bet that none of the people on that list are in any hurry to come back either.
It wasn’t always that way. Adam Barker, Lori Canalini, Steve Brown and Peter Nelson returned to Perth after stints in the east or in Singapore. Richard Berney returned to Perth after a couple of years in Europe. And creative stars of the 90s like Lindsay Medalia, Mike Edmonds, Dale Simmonds, Ric Cairns, Steve Browning and Wayne Vinten all stayed and made successful careers here.
To be fair, there have been some coming the other way like Kurt Beaudoin, Rodrigo Cassini, Paul Coghlan, Mark Fretten, Mike Sequeira, Dav Tabeshfar, Andrew Tinning and Tom Wilson, who have all moved to Perth from interstate or international markets. Most of those guys seem well settled here but only time will tell for sure.
Then again, when Andrew Tinning won the worldwide Getty Images Ultimate Challenge earlier this year, one comment on our national blog was: “Well done Andrew, I wish you’d move to Sydney. I’ve been an admirer of your work for a long time. I really want to work for you but I can’t ‘do’ Perth.”
So, who’s happy to stay working in Perth and who would be on that plane given the opportunity?

Current and former (now gainfully employed) students from ECU’s School of Communications got together for the School’s inaugural Prom at the Hilton Hotel on Sunday Night. Advertising course coordinator, Diane Slade, reports highlights included the appearance of the expanded 303 ‘Should Be Band’ with a repertoire now of 5 whole songs and the ‘Priceless Gavin Bain Auction’, where some work experience with the Marketforce Client Services Director was ‘sold’ to the highest bidder. Dealing with some serious hangovers the next day was just part of the students’ ongoing education for a career in the industry!

AwardSchool.jpgLast week a parent visited Campaign Brief's office for advice on getting their kid a placement in the creative department of an agency. I had to admit to them that I wasn't sure many agencies still did that in Perth. The parent told me that they had been successful in getting into one agency where this student spent the better part of 4 days just flicking through old award annuals and not getting a look at any briefs or given any time by any of the creatives in the department.
My response to the parent was that no doubt this was a particularly busy week in the agency and not to give up. I then, sadly, fell back on my two habitual responses - firstly, suggesting getting into AWARD School and secondly, talking to Martin (CB's Perth Editor) who is much more knowledgeable than me for advice in this area.
For those readers not working directly in agencies, AWARD School is a 16 week part-time course for budding creatives that has been running in most states in Australia for over 20 years and has produced many of todays top creatives including David Droga, Craig Davis, Leo Premutico and closer to Perth, Matt Eastwood, Reed Collins and Julia Elton-Bott.
Undeniably, if you impress at AWARD School this is a sure fire way to fast-track your start in a creative department.
But is it the only way to break in to an agency?
Is the creative placement system now not feasible?
Do any Perth agencies still take students on placements?
Maybe AWARD School has become so successful that it is now almost a prerequisite to a job. Or perhaps senior creatives and creative directors no longer have the time to effectively coach creatives on placement.
I'd love to get a positive discussion going on this topic so that next time I am faced with this question I can offer something more meaningful than just the AWARD School website.
What advice do senior creatives offer to budding young creatives?
What advice can any AWARD School graduates offer about the course and any future job prospects?
The same day I was trying to give career advice I read a very interesting and entertaining account of the role of a creative director in encouraging students of advertising. Dave Trott's UK Blog is one of about 4 or 5 industry websites I regularly visit. In HIs What Makes a Creative Director posting Trott explains why he believes a CD shouldn't pull a student's folio apart unless they are prepared to help them put it back together. It's a good read.
Perth expat director Simon McQuoid has produced an entertaining campaign for Holiday Inn Express via Fallon Minneapolis. McQuoid, who started his career at AdLink Perth before joining FCB Shorter, has had an unbelievably successful time since taking up directing in the United States 5 years ago. His XBox 360/Halo3 'Enemy Weapon' spot was one of the Cannes Lions Film Grand Prix winners this year and he is in constant demand as a director in the US via production company GO Films.
