2010 Siren Awards deadline 5pm today

siren_silver_logo_s.gifThe deadline to enter the 2010 Siren Awards is 5pm today. Agencies and radio stations can submit work previously not entered, or re-enter work that had not been recognised in the previous rounds.

Winners of the 2010 Siren Awards will be announced in Melbourne earlyin May and the awards ceremony will coincide with a Siren RadioWorkshop, which will include some great instructional sessions andinformation from radio directors and sound engineers about how to makegreat radio ads.

Ads will be judged by a panel of experts and those chosen from theFinal Call round will join winners and highly commended from each ofthe five rounds of Sirens already completed. All of these finalistswill then be judged by the Siren Creative Council, a group ofAustralia’s leading creative directors and producers, with a SilverSiren winner from the three categories: campaign, single and craft thenannounced along with an overall winner: the Gold Siren.

The overall Gold Siren winner for 2010 will be automatically enteredinto this year’s Cannes Radio Lions as well as the winning writersreceiving a free trip to the Cannes Advertising Festival.

The national Siren Awards, now in their seventh year, are run byCommercial Radio Australia and are designed to recognise the best radioads in the country.  The awards promote the importance of creativity asa way to make radio advertising more effective.
