‘The Circus’ is set for February 22-24 and will explore the latest developments in the world of commercial creativity while celebrating the industry’s outstanding work.

In an industry first, the festival is an integrated collaboration between the Advertising Federation of Australia, the Australasian Writers and Art Directors Association, the Account Planning Group and the Australasian Promotional Marketers Association through the newly formed Communications Council.

Held at the Carriage Works, the festival will incorporate the APG Battle of Big Thinking, which sees high profile speakers from marketing through to government battle for the title of the ‘biggest idea’, an international speaker program of the highest calibre and will reach crescendo with the AWARD Awards on the night of the 24th, to be held at Sydney’s State Theatre.

It will bring us together to discuss common issues and ideas, and is designed to appeal to an audience far beyond the creative discipline,” said Daniel Leesong (left), CEO of the Communications Council.

“Commercial creativity remains at the forefront of popular culture. We have much to celebrate while keeping abreast with the ever changing ways messages are delivered to society.”

As a preview to its festival, The Communications Council will be hosting an exhibition of commercial photography. It will be running from February 4 -March 12, with a private viewing on February 3. Agencies and photographers can submit work for the exhibition until November 20.

Further details will be available shortly.
