Registration for Communications Council ‘Circus’ now open – ad festival set for February 22-25

Thumbnail image for Screen shot 2010-12-17 at 7.34.14 AM.jpgThe countdown to The Communications Council ‘Circus’ Festival in Sydney has begun. With only six weeks to go, registration is now open.

‘The Circus’ is set for February 22-25 and ticket options include day passes for all major events, or a full ‘Circus’ pass giving access to the four day festival. With the purchase of five passes, delegates will receive a sixth pass free, while buying ten full Circus passes, entitles one to three additional full passes.

Those that register early will be able to attend Google’s ‘This Space Film Festival’ held on February 23, at the Argyle in the Rocks. The event will be a showcase of Youtube’s global creative initiatives with a uniquely Australian flair and celebrate its users and content creators. 

Thumbnail image for josecabaco.jpgThe festival opens with an international speaker keynote program on February 23. Confirmed speakers include Jose Cabaco (Nike Sportswear) – pictured left -, Rob Campbell (W+K), Jess Greenwood (Contagious Insider) – pictured above – and Josh Spear (undercurrent).

The APG Battle of Big Thinking takes place on February 24 and will feature 16 high profile thinkers including Jon Casimir – (Zapruder), Joel Gibson (Sydney Morning Herald), Justin Baird (Google) and Rangan Srikhanta (One Laptop per child).

A Pencil case study segment is set for the Friday, which will see clients and agencies share insights on award winning case studies and the Festival concludes with the AWARD Awards on the night of the 25th.

“The Circus program promises to be forward thinking and inspiring. It is the must attend event in the yearly calendar,” said Daniel Leesong from the Communications Council.

Circus will be awarding the industry’s up and coming talent at the shots New Director AWARD, presenting new directing talent from Australia, New Zealand and Asia. The call for entry is open until February 1.

 

As a preview to its festival, The Communications Council will be celebrating great commercial photography through its ‘Images from Adland’ exhibition. It will be running from February 4 -March 12, with a private viewing on February 3 to which all are invited.
