Adstream Holdings sold a majority interest in its Australian subsidiary to Telstra in 2006. The agreement included an exclusive license to market Adstream’s advertising management technologies in the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Adstream Australia has experienced strong growth during this period, now servicing every advertising agency in Australia with primarily web-based advertising management services. The services are hosted by Telstra.

Adstream Australia has been aided in its growth by Telstra’s advanced data management expertise and backing to become the clear market leader in the advertising distribution sector. In the last 12 months alone Adstream Australia has quality-assured and distributed more than 400,000 print campaigns and 300,000 television campaigns.

“Telstra subsidiary Sensis has been a terrific custodian of this business,” said Peter Miller (pictured), managing director of Adstream Australia. “Sensis has provided strategic and technical support and backed us in the development of innovative solutions.”

With Telstra subsidiary Sensis supporting the Australian business, Adstream Holdings focused on the European and North American markets where it now provides worldwide advertising solutions to global brands and agencies from 26 offices around the world.

The company remains in Australian hands, majority owned by Paul Ramsay Holdings (PRH). PRH also has interests in a number of other Australian advertising and media businesses, notably Prime Media Group. PRH executive Peter Evans is Chairman of Adstream Holdings.

Says Miller: “This is a terrific outcome for the employees and customers of Adstream Australia. We will be in the forefront of leading-edge thinking, cross-media campaign resource management and technology development. Being re-integrated into the global Adstream business will bring learnings and innovations we can swiftly bring to our customers locally.”

Says Adstream Holdings CEO Gerard Barron: “Over the past 10 years I have witnessed Adstream’s growth from humble beginnings in Sydney to a global player with a network of 26 offices around the world. Adstream has shown a continuous ability to innovate in the way it connects the global advertising community across mediums and geographies. We are very excited to fully integrate the Australian operations into Adstream Holdings and unlock synergies and opportunities for further growth.”
