AWARDS_OLLY-thumb-400x572-83326.jpgThis year’s APG Creative Strategy Awards sees the introduction of a new award, the Strategic Agency of the Year award. Designed to recognise those agencies that support planning and are committed to improving standards across the board, this award builds on the existing program of recognising individuals within agencies.

The award will be judged by an independent panel:

  • Darren Woolley – Managing Director Trinity P3
  • Anthony Hourigan – Managing Director, Hourigan International
  • Dave Cobban – Citizen Mobilization Director, Nike Sustainable Business & Innovation
  • Jon Bradshaw – Brands Director, Lion
  • Peter Boone – Chief Marketing Officer, Unilever

The award will be evaluated on a balance of criteria including evidence of the investment in planning within the agency; the support for planning as a core discipline; examples of planning innovation and retention of planners. Entries will be judged in relation to agency history, size, client base and geographical scope to ensure due consideration is given to all contributing factors. The fundamental objective will be to uncover those agencies that support planning across the board.

Says Sudeep Gohil, CEO Droga5 and chairman, APG: “This is an exciting first for the APG and we look forward to entries from lots of agencies, big and small. After all, it’s not about how many but actually how good an agency’s planning is. Planning extends far beyond an individual, and this award recognises the contribution a team or agency philosophy can make in achieving great work.”

Entries for the 2012 Account Planning Group (APG) Creative Strategy Awards close on Monday 17 September. The awards celebrate the outstanding contribution planning makes to great creative work and showcase the diversity of thinking from creative, media, digital, research, experiential and PR agencies.

Entries for Strategic Agency of the Year may be submitted in a format of the agency’s choice, the deadline is Monday 17 September.

The awards are generously supported by our partners Sandy Oldham Consulting, GfK Blue Moon, BWM, DDB, The Digital Edge and The Inspire Foundation.
