384x512_Yereth Jansen2.jpgAustralia will be the first country in the world to see the global exhibition of A Day, a global photography project run by the Expressions of Humankind Foundation via Out-of-Home communications agency Posterscope and its industry partners.

Today, Monday 8th October, the A Day exhibition will be displayed on digital screens around the world launching at 12pm local time in each region.

A Day saw people from around the world document their day in photographs on 15th May 2012. The project’s aim is to document daily life around the world, with the photos making up a database for scientific research, educations material, photo books and exhibitions.

384x512_Ou Dongqu.jpgPosterscope is behind today’s global exhibition which is supported locally by APN, Café Screen, Executive Channel, GOA, Inlink, JC Decaux, Octopus, oOh! Media, Phoenix, Val Morgan and Westfield Brand Space.

Says Joe Copley, managing director of Posterscope Australia: “The A Day exhibition comprises more than 100,000 images from 170 countries worldwide. These will be displayed on more than 55,000 digital screens worldwide today, including 3,000 screens here in Australia.

“It’s an amazing project giving an insight into daily life around the world and an excellent example 384x512_Heather Cody.jpgof the ability of the Out-of-Home sector to engage with people as they go about their daily life.”

A Day will be showing at key locations throughout Australia including Sydney Airport, Westfield Bondi Junction, Flinders Street Station in Melbourne, Rundle Mall in Adelaide, Kangaroo Point in Brisbane and St Georges Terrace in Perth.

Globally, the A Day campaign will be seen on the iconic ABC Screen in New York’s Times Square, the Media Wall in Liverpool- Europe’s largest commercial screen, as well as the Harmon Corner digital screen in Las Vegas – the world’s largest full motion LED screen.

A book featuring 1,000 of the A Day images will be published in Australia by SBS and Hardie Grant Books, available in bookstores from 1st November.
