The AFR reports that Labor has recruited the chief executive of Sydney ad agency Murphy & Friends, Mark Collis, to assemble an advertising team for the election, to be based in Melbourne.
Collis is a former national creative director of Leo Burnett, a creative director at Grey, London, D’Arcy Sydney and Ogilvy & Mather Tokyo, and was the director of innovation, creativity and brand at Telstra until a year ago. In September Collis joined Insurance Australia Group’s NRMA Insurance, SGIC and SGIO as head of brands, a role he will still retain.

“It’s how we’re corrupt”?
Didn’t he just take a job at AIG?
It wont last, just like the Labour government.
@Iworkedwithhim I would put my money on this guy over you, after all, being able to spell ‘Labor’ would be a prerequisite which would rule you out.
Why on Earth McCanns or whoever ran Labor’s 2010 campaign did not simply use TV grabs of Abbott putting his foot in his mouth, at least as a strand, is beyond me.
There’s nothing more damning or persuasive than that which condemns a polititian by his own words rather than some stupid contrivance beloved of agencies at election time with predictable nasty voice-over (written by a copywriter) and menacing drone SFX.
Abbott has provided a library of gaffes from Lateline interviews etc etc in which he is hoist by his own petard. Please Mark, use them.
ABC footage, including Lateline, can’t be used in political advertising.
No campaign can save Labor
I would be getting half my fee upfront.Maths is not their strong point.
Also you’d better hope the Libs dont use Julia’s No Carbon Tax TV grab.
Abbott will save Labor. And history will prove him right.
