Longtail brings the noise celebrating their 5th Birthday with a laneway block party

Laneway_15.jpgLongtail celebrated their 5th birthday in style last Friday, turning their laneway parking lot into an old school block party, complete with lanterns, crates and even a live hip hop performance written especially for the occasion by Perth outfit The Magical Noise Experiment.

Invites for the party were sent out via a dedicated site which allowed guests to create their own 8-bit pixel character, which were then turned into customised lanyards on the night. You can still give it a test drive on the RSVP site.

Laneway_19.jpgAnimated versions of the characters were then played on a big screen during the party, and integrated with Twitter-powered speech bubbles for live digital heckling.

Then the MNE boys brought out the best surprise birthday present of the night, with an extra-special Longtail-themed live hip hop performance "Longtail (We Gettin' Money)" that brought the house down. Witness the amazingness here.

To see the full gallery of the night, and to generally pop in and say hi, come and hang out in the land of Longtailia on Facebook.

Great nite in the laneway. The hip hop birthday gift was a hit. Did anyone video it?
