Ron Samuel's Emergence Creative Festival Diary
Day 1: Cape Mentelle - Beautiful location. Balmy night.
First impressions count and Cape Mentelle winery on a balmy summer evening is very impressive. The mood was festive and some of the good folk had obviously made an early start, everyone else seemed intent on catching up.
The bar was a distraction for the Film Showcase which was a shame as there was some great talent on display. The evening was very well organised and even though the crowd went through all of the evening's wine (300 bottles) in about two hours it didn't seem to slow anyone down.
Breakfast this morning at beautiful Gnarabup Bay was well attended although some were conspicuous by their absence. We shared a table with Laurie Smithdale owner of the popular Seabreeze website and had a chat about the weather while the champagne cork popping film competition was getting under way on the beach.
Day 1 Highlights
Meeting the Seabreeze guy.
Meeting some of the international guests.
Cape Mentelle.
The beach.
No hangover.

This event is a great idea for us advertising folk. Too often we only seem to seek inspiration from inside our own industry, instead of getting out more and seeing what other creative people are doing. I'm a little jealous I'm not there so I'm glad you're doing the diary Ronnie. A blow by blow account would be good, thanks.
I was wondering where Ron was.
