Equilibrium is making The Disappointed famous

The Disappointed.jpgAs part of Youngblood's Make a Band Famous competition, Equilibrium has created an event which aims to not only promote local band, The Disappointed, but to do some good for a worthy cause.

Sightless Sounds will be a concert played in complete darkness to raise awareness for World Glaucoma Week (March 10 - 16). It will take place in the basement of the Norfolk Hotel in Fremantle on March 13, 2013.

The event hopes to raise awareness for what is the world's leading cause of blindness by allowing the audience to feel what it's like to live without sight - albeit for a moment.

50% of people with glaucoma in Australia don't know they have the disease until it's too late. World Glaucoma Week aims to educate people of the importance of regular eye exams, which is the key to reducing this number. Sightless Sounds is about getting people to hear that blindness via glaucoma is unnecessary.

The gig will begin at 8.00pm and will feature live music from The Disappointed, supported by Frighteners and Children. All three bands are excited to put their names to such an important cause.

The entry fee? Just 'Like' The Disappointed's Facebook page. Donations can be made on the night with proceeds going to Glaucoma Australia.

I once saw a steeled unicorn emerge from a tornado and it looked like this poster.
