The One Club has announced the finalists for the 13th Annual One Show Design Awards, the most prestigious worldwide competition celebrating the year’s best in design. There are 279 finalists from 117 agencies and 28 different countries.

Other Australian agencies that made the finalists stage include Bear Meets Eagle (2), Clemenger BBDO Sydney (2), DDB Sydney (1), Harcus Design Sydney (1), M&C Saatchi Sydney (1) and The Monkeys and Maud (1).
Independent design shops, such as Kolle Rebbe from Hamburg, Germany, 601bisang from Seoul, South Korea and Sandstrom Partners from Portland, Oregon, account for 42 percent of this year’s finalists. Ogilvy Group led agency networks with 24 finalists, followed by BBDO and Leo Burnett Worldwide, both with 17 finalists.
Says Seth Callaway, producer for One Show Design: “Independent design shops continue to multiply and create great work, remaining the backbone of One Show Design but large agency networks should also be commended for embracing the importance of design beyond aesthetics. Independent studios and networks alike understand that the industry has shifted toward a more holistic design ethic, often referred to as design thinking or human-centered design. These approaches help clarify the communities and individuals served by design, in other words, ‘design that does’ versus ‘design that is.”’
Winning the coveted One Show Design Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencils is considered the ultimate achievement in the design industry.
One Show Design winners will be honored at the IAC building on Monday, May 6th during Creative Week 2013. One Show Interactive finalists were announced on April 8th. One Show finalists were announced on April 9th.

Go Bartolo! The whole friggin showcase could be yours!
Nothing fresher than a flipping a business card out of a Wrigley packet.
Dom Bartolo you are the design king!
So an acupuncturist asked a multi-national agency to get business cards done. Or a mate who works at a design outfit decided to help hos mate cos he had an idea that he could enter into awards?
Does steve LI even exist? I cant find any details saying he does.
