UnLTD.jpgUN LTD, Australia’s youth focused not-for-profit foundation for the media, marketing and advertising industry has announces the addition of three senior industry executives to its board of directors.

UM CEO, Mat Baxter (top, left), Ikea marketing director, Rebecca Darley (top, right) and APN Outdoor general manager marketing, Janine Wood (bottom, left) have joined UN LTD, whose mission is to eliminate the consequences of youth disadvantage in Australia through harnessing the wealth, talent and influence of the advertising, marketing and media industry.

In addition to the existing UN LTD MEDIA and UN LTD Mentor programs, FY14 will see the launch of workplace giving platform UN LTD Giving, enabling companies to offer staff the opportunity to contribute to a community organisation of their choice through pre-tax payroll giving, volunteering and the provision of pro-bono services. UN LTD has partnered with leading social enterprise developers, Give Easy, to create an easily integrated platform which will be piloted in October 2013.

Says Kerry McCabe, UN LTD founder: “To deliver on a vision as bold as UN LTD’s we need great talent. Mat, Rebecca and Janine are exceptional operators in their respective fields and share our passion and belief that UN LTD can become a movement that defines the industry and brings us together behind young people in need.”

Says Baxter: “The opportunity for providing an avenue for all who work in the sector to easily give both time and financial contributions is timely. I see our younger generation as wanting to impact social change in a meaningful way. UN LTD GIVING facilitates this and channels funds and resources to where they are most needed. I’m looking forward to the industry as a collective taking this challenge on with pride.”

Says Darley: “Having witnessed some of the amazing workplace giving programs in place in other markets, I’m excited about our industry leading the way through UN LTD in Australia. UN LTD GIVING will enable 1:1 relationships to be formed between individuals and their preferred not-for profit group which is a powerful and scalable initiative in creating emotional connections. Employers can match contributions and onboard their existing not-for-profit partners which compliments and amplifies their existing CSR programs. We are confident that adoption of the platform from companies will be high.”

Wood talked about what she’s always liked about UN LTD and why she’s thrilled to be onboard.

Says Wood: “The way UN LTD approach grants allocation and connecting individuals with specific expertise to relevant youth organisations is seamless. Youth disadvantage takes many forms, from neglect and trauma to addiction and mental illness, and UN LTD source and support the most impactful youth focused not-for-profit groups across the country. I look forward to helping the team take UN LTD to the next level and assisting in bringing the industry together behind the cause.”

Says McCabe: “I’d like to thank Henry Tajer for his ongoing support of UN LTD. Henry has supported UN LTD since 2007 and served as a director for the past year. He will now step down from his formal Board involvement due to local and international Mediabrands commitments.

“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Barry O’Brien as UN LTD’s first Patron. Barry has been with UN LTD since day one and brings both his big heart and big connections to the organisation. We are fortunate that across the UN LTD board and committees, an amazing group of people tirelessly commit to sharing their time and networks to help deliver on our mission.”

Effective immediately, Baxter, Darley and Wood join UN LTD board of directors – UN LTD founder, Kerry McCabe, Southern Cross Austereo director of sales, Adam Furness and Mi9 Group CEO, Mark Britt.
